Cosmos (ATOM) to Host an AMA on June 27th to Explore New Interchain Services

Cosmos is gearing up to host an Ask Me Anything (AMA) session on June 27th at 14:00 UTC, where they will be discussing the latest developments in Interchain Services. This event will be hosted on X, and users are encouraged to join in and ask any questions they may have.

Cosmos is a decentralized platform that aims to facilitate interoperability between blockchains. At the heart of this ecosystem lies the Cosmos Hub, which serves as a central registry for various specialized blockchains, known as "Zones." These Zones are tailored by developers to cater to specific needs and are built using the Cosmos Software Development Kit (SDK).

The Cosmos SDK enables seamless blockchain creation within the Cosmos environment, thanks to its modular architecture and Tendermint Core consensus protocol. This protocol offers a validator-centric consensus mechanism that remains consistent across multiple Cosmos blockchains. However, it's worth noting that the criteria for validator selection vary for each Zone.

The native token of the Cosmos ecosystem is ATOM. In the case of the Cosmos Hub, validators are chosen from the top ATOM stakers, with their influence being directly proportional to the amount they have staked. Apart from determining voting power in the consensus process, ATOM is also used to pay for transaction fees and participate in governance decisions. Being crucial for network consensus, validators are encouraged to actively review proposals, or they might be subjected to penalties.
