OriginTrail is a decentralized protocol that enables efficient data sharing among various entities in a multi-chain ecosystem.
The protocol was first introduced in 2018 on Ethereum as the first-ever “Decentralized Knowledge Graph”.
OriginTrail promotes multi-chain interoperability among participants in the data-sharing ecosystem, allowing users to store and access shared and discoverable data within the network.
Currently, OriginTrail is interoperable with Ethereum, Polygon, and Gnosis Chain.
OriginTrail’s native token is fundamentally an ERC-20 cryptocurrency, which can be traded with other cryptocurrencies on the Ethereum platform.
After the Ethereum Merge, transactions involving the token are validated using the Proof-of-Stake (PoS) consensus mechanism, reinforcing the token’s credibility and security within the ecosystem.
