Converge: A New Blockchain Designed to Bridge the Gap Between RWA and DeFi
Apr 17, 2025 at 11:14 pm
The partnership between Ethena and Securitize has led to the creation of “Converge”, a blockchain designed to bridge the gap between real-world assets (RWA) and

Ethena and Securitize are joining forces to launch Converge, a novel blockchain aiming to integrate real-world assets (RWA) with decentralized finance (DeFi) in a single, unified infrastructure.
This Ethereum-compatible network is designed for high-throughput and low-latency transactions, rendering it particularly appealing to institutional investors who manage substantial capital. The mainnet launch is targeted for the second quarter of 2025, as confirmed by Securitize's CEO, Carlos Domingo.
Converge leverages the scalability of Arbitrum and the data availability efficiency of Celestia. These two technologies form the foundation of Converge, which is further enhanced by a custom-built sequencer that maximizes transaction throughput and minimizes data storage costs.
The goal is to attract tens of billions in institutional capital to the crypto ecosystem by creating a platform that offers speed, security, and compliance with financial regulations.
One of Converge’s unique aspects is its support for network fee payment in Ethena’s stablecoins: USDe and USDtb, both of which are maintained at a 1:1 peg to the U.S. dollar. This simplifies accounting procedures and minimizes volatility for users operating within the network.
For optimal security, the “Converge Validator Network” (CVN) will be comprised of participants who stake Ethena’s ENA token. This validator council will serve as an emergency failsafe in critical protocol issues and will also participate in network governance.
This additional layer of oversight ensures stability in a rapidly changing technological landscape, even in highly regulated institutional environments.
Ethena already holds a dominant position in the market with its synthetic token USDe, backed by over $5 billion in assets. Concurrently, Securitize is a leader in the institutional tokenization space, serving major clients like BlackRock, Apollo, and Hamilton Lane.
Converge is the natural progression of both companies' expertise, presenting a blockchain capable of accommodating traditional financial instruments and advanced DeFi protocols within a single, compliant, and technically robust framework.
