Flow and Pool will be hosting a Consensus poker tournament on May 16th, running from 10 PM to 2:30 AM.
The event is being positioned as an informal networking occasion for sector builders and will include card play, refreshments and prize distribution.
“Join us for an evening of poker, food and fun as we come together to celebrate the Web3 community at Consensus,” an invitation from the pair reads.
“We’ll be playing No Limit Hold’em with a buy-in of $500. All buy-ins will be donated to charity.”
The event will take place at the Collective in the Garden at the EDITION Hotel, starting with registration at 9 PM.
The tournament will begin at 10 PM and is expected to conclude around 12:30 AM, after which refreshments will be served and the tournament winners will be announced.
The event is open to anyone interested in networking with other blockchain professionals in a relaxed setting.
“We hope to see you there!” the invitation concludes.
Flow is a fast, decentralized, and developer-friendly blockchain, created by Dapper Labs, that is designed to be the foundation for a new generation of games, apps, and the digital assets that power them. It is based on a unique, multi-role architecture and designed to scale without sharding, allowing for massive improvements in speed and throughput while preserving a developer-friendly, ACID-compliant environment.
In contrast to Ethereum, which uses a proof-of-work (PoW) model, Flow employs a novel multi-level consensus architecture that enables high throughput without compromising decentralization. This separation allows different nodes in the network to perform distinct functions, thereby improving efficiency.
Flow also provides low-cost interaction for developers and users, making it an ideal blockchain for social and entertainment applications.
Flow (FLOW) is the primary utility token of the Flow blockchain, which can be used for network governance, transaction fee payments within the Flow network, and staking.
