Circle Brings Native USDC and CCTP V2 to World Chain
Jun 12, 2025 at 01:01 am
Circle has launched native USDC and its upgraded Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP V2) on World Chain.

Circle has launched native USDC and its upgraded Cross-Chain Transfer Protocol (CCTP V2) on World Chain.
This marks a major upgrade for the network’s 27 million global users across more than 160 countries.
But don’t mistake this for just another blockchain or stablecoin integration.
Previously, users on World held bridged USDC in their World App wallets. That version, while useful, lacked the regulatory clarity and asset backing of true native USDC.
Now, Circle has fully replaced bridged tokens with native USDC, issued and backed directly by Circle.
Seamless Conversion, Real Digital Dollar
Users didn’t need to take any action. All existing bridged USDC was automatically upgraded to native USDC.
Now, every dollar is fully backed by cash or cash-equivalent reserves—delivering a regulated, trusted stablecoin experience across the network.
This means faster, safer, and cheaper access to a digital dollar for sending cross-border payments in cities like Buenos Aires and Busan, or running financial Mini Apps. No more predatory remittance fees. No manual bridging.
Faster, Cheaper Transfers With CCTP V2
Along with native USDC, Circle also brought CCTP V2 to World Chain.
This next-gen protocol allows USDC to move quickly and affordably across supported blockchains. For developers, that means better composability and easier integration into decentralized finance apps.
Businesses gain reliable, regulated access via Circle Mint, while developers can embed USDC directly into World App Mini Apps.
With this foundation, World Chain becomes more than a blockchain—it becomes a gateway to decentralized finance for millions.
Looking Ahead: More Utility on the Way
This integration unlocks major utility for users and developers. It also lays the groundwork for even broader adoption, with plans to bring EURC, Circle’s euro-backed stablecoin, to World Chain in the future.
With the largest regulated stablecoin now natively integrated and supported by a global user base, World Chain is positioned to become a serious force in global payments and blockchain utility.
