Chainlink (LINK) Developer Activity Spiked in June, Climbing into Second Spot Behind Hedera (HBAR)
Jul 02, 2024 at 02:28 am
According to data by market intelligence platform Santiment, Chainlink saw a considerable spike in developer activity in June as the decentralized oracle network climbed into second spot behind Hedera

Decentralized oracle network Chainlink saw a significant increase in developer activity in June, climbing to second place behind Hedera, according to data from market intelligence platform Santiment.
The ranking is based on the number of GitHub events, which are any non-redundant activities, over the past 30 days. The platform calculates the average daily activity for each project and ranks them accordingly.
Hedera remained crypto’s top coin in terms of GitHub activity, with 759 events. However, Chainlink (on Ethereum) saw a surge in developer activity with 526 events, placing it firmly in second place.
Optimism (OP) ranked third with 481 events, followed by Internet Computer (ICP) with 434. Cardano (ADA), Status (SNT), Cosmos (ATOM), ZKsync (ZK), Starknet (STRK) and Aptos (APT) completed the top 10 with 387, 363, 356, 348, 286 and 270 events, respectively.
The ranking contrasts with the market performance of these projects in June. While Starknet and ZKsync, both of which launched recently, experienced significant volatility following their airdrops, the majority of the other coins faced declines as the broader crypto market also fell.
HBAR fell 25% over the month, while LINK, OP, ICP and ADA closed June with price drops of 22%, 28%, 32% and 10%, respectively. Cosmos Hub and Aptos tokens also saw declines of 19% and 22%, respectively.
Despite the market downturn, the high count of developer activity indicates robust network development for these projects, which could ultimately lead to product growth and user adoption, as highlighted by Santiment.
In Chainlink’s case, the team recently released an adoption update for the past week, showcasing 12 integrations of six Chainlink services across eight blockchain networks.
Some of these integrations include the Chainlink Data Feeds integration with Arbitrum Odyssey and the launch of Chainlink Data Streams on Avalanche, among others.
