Chainlink Launches New Rewards Program Designed to Increase Engagement Within Its Ecosystem
May 06, 2025 at 05:25 pm
Chainlink has unveiled a new rewards system designed to increase engagement within its ecosystem while providing tangible benefits to those who stake its native LINK token. By Cointelegraph.
Chainlink is launching a new rewards program that will see projects in the Chainlink Build program distribute tokens to broader ecosystem participants and LINK token stakers.
The first project to participate in this program is Space and Time, which has been part of the Chainlink Build program since September 2022. The decentralized infrastructure company will be making 4% of its SXT token supply available for this initiative, which translates to 200 million SXT.
Out of the total SXT allocation, 100 million tokens will be distributed in the "Season Genesis" phase of the Chainlink Rewards program, kicking off on May 8, 2025.
This initial launch will focus on claiming the first batch of tokens. Those who were staking LINK tokens before a March 31 snapshot date will be eligible to receive their share of SXT tokens.
The claim period for this first batch of tokens will span 90 days. Any unclaimed tokens, along with the second batch of 100 million SXT tokens, may be distributed in future reward seasons as the Chainlink Rewards program expands.
This initiative marks an expansion of the Chainlink Build program, which provides various forms of support to projects, including marketing assistance, priority access to services, and technical guidance.
In exchange for these benefits, participating projects commit a percentage of their token supply to be distributed to the Chainlink ecosystem, specifically to those who stake LINK tokens and broader community members.
Space and Time has been integrating Chainlink’s technology into its infrastructure since joining the Build program in 2022. The company is building a decentralized database that leverages zero-knowledge proofs to deliver advanced data analytics to smart contracts.
In 2024, Space and Time integrated Chainlink Functions to enable the delivery of ZK-proven queries in a highly efficient manner.
Chainlink describes the Season Genesis launch as an experimental pilot phase, and the feedback from this initial deployment will guide the future iterations of the rewards program.
Later stages of the program may feature a more sophisticated claiming mechanism and tokens from multiple Chainlink Build projects, expanding the scope of the initiative.
