Chainlink and Circle Discussed Stablecoin Integration in DeFi Applications

Chainlink recently announced its partnership with Circle to enhance the utility of stablecoins in decentralized finance (DeFi) applications.

The partnership will see Chainlink integrate Circle’s stablecoin developer technology into its oracle network, enabling developers to easily leverage stablecoins in their DeFi applications. Additionally, Chainlink will support USD Coin (USDC) on the chains enabled by its Cross-Chain Interoperability Protocol (CCIP), facilitating secure cross-chain transfers of USDC.

“Chainlink’s integration of Circle’s stablecoin developer technology will empower innovators building Internet-native financial services,” said Sandra Persing, VP Product, Developer, and Ecosystem Marketing at Circle. “There are immense opportunities for builders right now and we look forward to continuing our partnership with Chainlink to unlock new capabilities for the DeFi ecosystem.”

Chainlink’s price oracles have facilitated over $1.3 trillion in transactions involving USDC across six different blockchains since its inception. These oracles have played a crucial role in providing DeFi markets with liquidity and enabling a wide range of financial applications to be built on top of stablecoins.

“This partnership combines Chainlink’s industry-leading oracle solutions with Circle’s fully regulated, fiat-backed stablecoin, USDC, to provide a powerful and secure infrastructure for DeFi applications,” said Chainlink Labs Head of Business Development Dan Kochis. “By integrating USDC into Chainlink’s oracle network and CCIP, we aim to unlock new possibilities for the DeFi ecosystem.”

Chainlink’s partnership with Circle aims to accelerate the adoption and usability of stablecoins in the DeFi ecosystem, providing developers with the tools and infrastructure they need to build innovative and impactful applications.
