World Chain Expands to New Heights with Native USDC and CCTP V2 Integration
May 02, 2025 at 08:03 pm

World Chain, the widely used blockchain application with over 25 million users in 160+ countries, is set to introduce native USDC and Circle's Cross Chain Transfer Protocol V2 (CCTP V2). The integration, a significant upgrade to the existing bridged USDC and the first time that native USDC will be deployed on a non-Circle-issued chain, marks a pivotal moment for World Chain and its users.
Currently, World Chain users in 158 countries utilize a bridged version of USDC, maintained by a third party and largely used within the World App's Mini Apps for tasks like sending funds, paying for goods, and accessing financial tools. Nearly two million people regularly engage with this Mini App network, which is rapidly expanding.
With the upcoming addition of native USDC, issued directly by Circle and fully backed by cash and cash-equivalent assets, and the introduction of CCTP V2, World Chain users will benefit from a digital dollar that is regulated, audited, and globally trusted. Circle will be automatically converting all existing bridged USDC on World Chain to native USDC.
This integration has direct implications for World Chain's diverse user base, who will experience safer savings, faster cross-chain payments, and greater access to a digital dollar that seamlessly works across different blockchains and in various countries.
According to Chainalysis data, stablecoins comprised nearly 60% of all cryptocurrency transaction volume in 2023, with a substantial portion coming from emerging markets.
World Chain's extensive reach, especially in these regions where stable and reliable money is highly valued, makes this integration particularly pertinent.

In the coming weeks, Circle will seamlessly upgrade World Chain’s Bridged USDC Standard implementation to natively issued USDC.
In addition, World Chain will gain support for CCTP V2, enabling faster-than-finality USDC transfer capabilities between chains and lower transfer fees for institutions and developers.
World Chain is a leading blockchain with a rapidly growing ecosystem of over 25 million users in 160+ countries. The World App features a unique Mini App Store with a network of over 100 Mini Apps offering services like remittance, DeFi, and NFTs to millions of users.
Recently, World Chain announced the integration of Axie Infinity (AXS) and OKB tokens. Moreover, they are actively working on expanding the Mini App Store with the addition of Mini Apps from leading Web3 projects.
This partnership signifies a significant step towards advancing the future of finance with greater efficiency, accessibility, and resilience. Together, we aim to empower billions of people around the world with the benefits of open blockchain technology.
As the world becomes increasingly interconnected, initiatives like this are crucial in breaking down financial barriers and promoting a more inclusive digital economy. We are excited to see the impact of this collaboration on the global financial landscape.
Earlier this year, Circle announced plans to accelerate the launch of CCTP in response to the burgeoning demand for cross-chain capabilities. The protocol is designed to facilitate seamless and rapid token transfers across major blockchains, removing technical integration hurdles for institutions and developers.
Institutions and developers can now easily plug in USDC to create new Mini Apps on the World App and quickly introduce them to a global audience of millions.
Moreover, CCTP V2 will foster greater composability within the DeFi ecosystem, enabling developers to combine various building blocks of applications to create more sophisticated and feature-rich experiences.
This partnership marks a significant milestone in expanding the reach of open finance and unlocking new possibilities for a more interconnected world. Together, we are revolutionizing the future of money.
