Cardano, NEAR Protocol, and Unstaked: What's the Buzz in Crypto?
Jun 29, 2025 at 02:00 am
Dive into the latest crypto trends with Cardano's DeFi ambitions, NEAR Protocol's AI integration, and Unstaked's innovative community incentives. Discover the insights that matter.

The crypto world never sleeps! Let's break down what's happening with Cardano, NEAR Protocol, and Unstaked, three projects making waves with different approaches. From sovereign wealth funds to AI integration and million-dollar giveaways, there's a lot to unpack.
Cardano's DeFi Ambitions: A Sovereign Wealth Fund?
Charles Hoskinson, the founder of Cardano, proposed a bold idea: creating a sovereign wealth fund by converting 5-10% of the ADA treasury (around $1.2 billion) into assets like Bitcoin or stablecoins. The goal? To boost Cardano's presence in the decentralized finance (DeFi) space.
Think of Norway's Government Pension Fund Global (GPFG), which grew from oil and gas to a diverse portfolio of stocks, bonds, and real estate. Hoskinson aims for similar gains, using Bitcoin and stablecoin exposure to acquire more ADA and drive up its price. It's a high-stakes move with potential upsides.
Cardano's performance has been a mixed bag. Year-to-date, ADA is down nearly 35%, but it's up 56% over the past year. With a significant portion of its supply yet to enter circulation, there's potential for price drops if demand isn't strong. Hoskinson plans to mitigate this by using a time-weighted average price (TWAP) strategy to avoid spooking the market, similar to how Michael Saylor accumulates Bitcoin for MicroStrategy.
However, Cardano lags behind other top blockchains in performance. Until its Basho scaling phase is complete, particularly the Hydra layer-2 solution, it remains less competitive. Despite being older than Solana, Cardano's DeFi apps hold significantly less value. Injecting stablecoin liquidity could be a game-changer, making lending and borrowing less risky and attracting more activity to Cardano's dApps.
NEAR Protocol: AI-Ready and Scalable
NEAR Protocol is gaining traction with its AI-integrated ecosystem and developer-friendly Layer-1 infrastructure. Boasting 46 million active monthly users, NEAR focuses on speed and usability, offering features like dynamic sharding and human-readable wallet addresses.
Currently trading around $2.18, NEAR has shown resilience despite market dips. Its commitment to AI compatibility and ecosystem development makes it a solid choice for both developers and investors.
Unstaked: Rewarding Engagement with a $1 Million Giveaway
Unstaked is turning heads with a $1 million giveaway tied to active participation and presale involvement. Unlike typical airdrops, this campaign rewards effort and contribution, making it a magnet for crypto enthusiasts.
Participants must purchase $UNSD tokens during the presale and complete social tasks to enter. With over $10.5 million already raised, interest is high. The selective nature of the giveaway adds exclusivity, potentially signaling Unstaked as the next crypto to take off.
Final Thoughts
Cardano is aiming high with its DeFi ambitions, NEAR Protocol is charging ahead with AI integration, and Unstaked is shaking things up with innovative community incentives. It's a wild ride, but these projects are definitely ones to watch!
