Is Cardano the next crypto bomb waiting to explode?

Jul 26, 2024 at 04:01 am

Is Cardano the next crypto bomb waiting to explode?

Cardano might be the next crypto set to skyrocket. Savvy traders have made huge profits by betting against undervalued altcoins as a new wave of altcoins has hit the market. A key indicator suggests that some altcoins are about to have a huge bull run as everyone is looking for the next big thing.

ADA, Chiliz (CHZ), and Fantom (FTM) have been consistently shorted for over a month, according to Santiment, a leading on-chain analytics platform. This sustained bearish sentiment has led to speculation that these tokens will be subject to a short squeeze, resulting in significant price rallies.

When choosing altcoins, keep an eye on those that other crypto traders are betting against (shorting). There is a higher chance of liquidations leading to pumps when funding rates on large exchanges, like those we see with Chiliz, Fantom, and Cardano, go into the deep negative territory.

A short squeeze occurs when the price of a heavily shorted asset rises dramatically, prompting those sellers to close or buy back their positions to minimize substantial losses. This buying pressure can create an upward momentum, leading to a rapid price increase.

According to Santiment, funding rates for Cardano on major cryptocurrency exchanges have been consistently negative. This metric, which indicates the cost of holding a long position, shows that traders are bearish on the asset. However, such conditions could also be setting the stage for a potential short squeeze.

Cardano To Outperform Bitcoin

While past performance does not guarantee future results, Santiment’s analysis reveals a hidden signal that could help users achieve massive gains. It is, however, crucial to conduct your own research and consider multiple factors before making any investment decisions. The cryptocurrency market is volatile, and investors should be prepared for both gains and losses.

In a related development, Cardano founder Charles Hoskinson has predicted that ADA will rise to the top of the cryptocurrency world, highlighting Cardano's mission and competitive advantage to outpacing Bitcoin's.

“If we can do what I’m saying, there’s no way to beat Cardano because there’s nothing that can compete with it because, at the end of the day, it has lived up to what Satoshi started,” Hoskinson said.
