Cardano (ADA) Price Falls Below $0.8 as Network Activity Slows Down
Feb 24, 2025 at 10:56 pm
Cardano (ADA)'s price is not doing well as it falls below $0.8. As of the time of writing, the crypto has lost 5.7% in value from its intraday high of $0.77 and now trading at $0.7325. It has lost over 25% this month.

Cryptocurrency prices continue to experience turbulence, and Cardano (ADA) is no exception. At the time of writing, ADA is trading at $0.7325, having lost 5.7% in value from its intraday high of $0.77.
The crypto has seen better days, with a 25% loss this month alone. This downward trend is expected to continue, as several factors, including slow network activity and a bearish technical trend, are likely to contribute to further declines in the coming days.
Over the last quarter, ADA has significantly underperformed Bitcoin (BTC). As per the daily chart on TradingView, ADA has dropped by 32%, while BTC has only declined by 2.3%.
This vast disparity has made investors increasingly hesitant to put their money into ADA. As highlighted by IntoTheBlock, the ADA/BTC ratio experienced a remarkable 193% surge between November and December 2024, reaching a multi-year high on December 3.
However, this ratio went on to decrease by 45%, reaching its lowest point in 12 weeks on February 3.
One primary reason for ADA's price decline is the reduced activity on the Cardano network. Currently, there are fewer people using the blockchain, which translates to lower demand for ADA.
This lack of activity is further evident in the sharp decline in trading volume on Cardano's decentralized exchanges (DEX). The volume has dropped from $31.3 million on December 2 to a mere $2.7 million on February 23.
Furthermore, the number of active addresses has also taken a deep dive, going from 113,500 in late November to 25,900 as of yesterday.
To add to ADA's woes, the total value locked (TVL) in the Cardano ecosystem has also experienced a significant drop, going from $701.4 million last December to around $366 million today.
Returning to the technical chart, a bear flag pattern is visible, which was confirmed today with the price breaking below $0.77.
If the price continues to fall below this level, the next targets are likely to be $0.65 and $0.512.
In the event of a sell-off, ADA could fall further to $0.4517, which would be a 41.3% decrease from its current value.
The relative strength index (RSI), which serves as an indicator of momentum, has crossed the 50% average to 42. This indicates increasing selling pressure.
However, if ADA manages to rally back above $0.77, it could potentially avoid further losses and stabilize for the time being.
