A Bury resident has sold two "sought after" rare 50p coins for a huge markup.

Minted in November 2023, the Atlantic Salmon 50p is now the rarest in circulation - with only 200,000 created.

Depicting the fish on the back of a portrait of King Charles, the coin knocked the highly collectable 2009 Kew Gardens 50p of the top spot for the first time.

Now a Bury resident has sold not one - but two - of the "rare find for collectors" on eBay.

Both listings asked for £125.51 for the coin - over 250 times the original value - and making the seller a total of £251.02.

Delivery was listed as costing £7.75 and being delivered in three days.

The description reads: "This 2023 Atlantic Salmon 50p Fifty Pence Coin is a rare find for collectors.

"With only 200,000 minted, this coin features a beautiful design of the Atlantic Salmon, a symbol of the United Kingdom's maritime history.

"The coin is from the era of Charles III, 2022-Now, and was manufactured in the United Kingdom.

"This coin is a perfect addition to any collection of British decimal coins. The denomination of the coin is 50p, and it is a non-modified item.

"The coin does not have a privy mark and is an excellent investment for any collector.

"Don't miss out on the opportunity to add this rare coin to your collection."
