input: Boldy James is on yet another prolific run to start 2025. He's already released three albums, most recently an excellent collaboration with Chuck Strangers called Token of Appreciation at the end of February. The Detroit rapper is not showing any sign of slowing down either. On Friday, he dropped a new single with Harlem-based producer V Don. "Split the Bill" is the name of the track, and Boldy James sounds as sharp as ever on the track. Boldy James is a very consistent rapper, in that fans know exactly what to expect from him. Visceral street bars with some impressive wordplay and a gritty beat behind it.

Detroit rapper Boldy James continues his prolific 2025 campaign with the release of a new single.
The rapper is known for his consistent output and preference for dropping new music frequently. He's already released three albums this year, including a stellar collaboration with Chuck Strangers titled Token of Appreciation, which dropped on February 28.
On Friday (March 7), Boldy James dropped some new heat with Harlem-based producer V Don. The duo's single is titled "Split the Bill."
The track showcases V Don's signature gritty production style, which is often requested by members of the Griselda camp. One can easily imagine Conway the Machine or Benny the Butcher spitting on this beat.
Its more upbeat tempo and edges make it an interesting departure for both producers.
Despite the busy nature of the instrumental, Boldy James still manages to steal the show with his sharp and patterned verses.
Earlier this year, V Don revealed that he's working on 10 albums with rappers across the game. One of those albums is with Boldy James, which V Don confirmed is already finished and mastered.
"Split the Bill" is a formidable lead single for their joint album, which has the potential to be among the better hip-hop releases of 2025 when it arrives.
Give the new track a listen below.
I ain't really into all the gossip, niggas chatty Pattys
While I'm in the speed, gift wrapping up them Krabby Patties
Patent leather, off-whites, with the infrared ear
Off-white bricks, all my licks look like Will Ferrell
Soul snatching, dirty pole with delays
It's Bo Jackson, I ain't talking #34 for the Rays
