Bobby Ray Loflin Obituaries

Somerville, AL Somerville - Bobby Ray Loflin, 85, died Wednesday, March 10, 2025, at his residence. A native of Lawrence County, Bobby was a son of the late Lee Roy Loflin and Ollie Mae Mason Loflin. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Korea. Bobby was a member of Oak Park Church of God where he was a Sunday School teacher and a deacon. He was a mason and a bricklayer by trade, working on many buildings in Decatur and in northern Alabama. He was also a gardener and enjoyed raising vegetables and flowers.

Survivors include his wife of 65 years, Mary Jane "M.J." Loflin of Somerville; two daughters, Debra Sue (Terry) Rutherford of Decatur and Donna Kay (Ricky) Mason of Somerville; two grandchildren, Heath (Amy) Rutherford and Holly (Josh) Smith; and four great-grandchildren, Jeb Rutherford, Claire Rutherford, Mason Smith and Molly Smith.

The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday, March 14, at Oak Park Church of God. The funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the church with Pastor Billy Mason officiating. Interment will be in Roselawn Cemetery.
