BlackRock, the world's largest asset manager, continues to integrate Bitcoin (BTC) into its vast portfolio of funds. According to a recent SEC filing on March 23, the firm is now including Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in its Global Allocation Fund.
This development comes after earlier disclosures regarding Bitcoin exposure in the Strategic Global Bond Fund and the Strategic Income Opportunities Portfolio. BlackRock began the initiative in March to include Bitcoin ETFs in its Global Allocation Fund, aiming to track the performance of the digital currency market by focusing on ETPs listed on recognized exchanges.
The fund's broader strategy involves diversifying investments across multiple asset classes, and this move aligns with that approach. Notably, BlackRock's Global Allocation Fund manages $17.8 billion in assets and achieved a year-to-date return of 4.61% as of March 2024. The fund aims to capitalize on global investment opportunities while managing risk and pursuing long-term growth.
Meanwhile, Bitcoin has seen mixed results in terms of performance this year. During "green" months, the digital asset has shown remarkable gains, while "red" months have brought declines.
Bitcoin Market PerformanceThis news follows CNF's previous coverage of a Bitcoin ETF's performance being linked to the price of BTC since its introduction. Notably, Bitcoin has yielded returns of around 140% since the year began. At press time, Bitcoin (BTC) trades at $61,442.69 with a modest increase of 0.52% in the past day and a decrease of 3.81% in the past week.
