Non-custodial crypto wallet provider Bitget Wallet announced plans to enable developers to integrate Telegram Mini Apps into multichain ecosystems via a software development kit (SDK) called OmniConnect.
In a press release shared with Cointelegraph on Sept. 27, the wallet provider announced that developers can now use the OmniConnect development kit to connect Telegram Mini Apps to the broader crypto ecosystem, spanning the TON, Solana and Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) blockchains.
The integration will allow Mini Apps to leverage Bitget Wallet forスムーズな取引と署名 across blockchain networks.
Interoperability boost for Telegram Mini AppsPreviously, Telegram Mini Apps were only able to connect to The Open Network (TON). But with the new integration, Bitget Wallet believes that Telegram can now become a “comprehensive gateway to Web3.” According to the wallet provider, this will facilitate a “smoother” transition from Web2 to Web.
Bitget Wallet’s chief operating officer Alvin Kan said in the announcement that the new integration closes a crucial gap, adding:
Kan also expressed excitement about developers and ecosystems building on Telegram to create a “more open” Web3 environment on the platform.
Apart from the new integration, Bitget Wallet also teased that it will be announcing other initiatives aimed at empowering the Telegram Mini App ecosystem.
Crypto continues interoperability pushAs digital assets inch toward broader mainstream adoption, several projects within the Web3 ecosystem are advocating for a more interconnected industry.
On Aug. 6, Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin teased plans to introduce solutions for interoperability challenges on the Ethereum network. According to Buterin, the solutions may surprise many in the crypto space.
On Sept. 18, decentralized exchange (DEX) aggregator 1inch Network unveiled a feature to enable cross-chain swaps. The feature utilizes both offchain and onchain liquidity to power crypto swaps.
Bitcoin core developer Jeff Garzik founded the Hemi Network to “unite” Ethereum and Bitcoin using tunnels. In a previous interview with Cointelegraph, the project's chief technology officer told Cointelegraph that tunnels will enable assets to move from Bitcoin to Ethereum without cross-chain bridges.
On Sept. 23, TON-based wallet MyTonWallet announced that it will now support assets on the Tron blockchain.
