Bitcoin Set to Soar Despite Pressure, Analyst Predicts

Apr 16, 2024 at 11:00 am

Despite current market pressures, on-chain analyst Willy Woo predicts significant growth for Bitcoin due to upcoming Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs). Woo postulates that Bitcoin could reach $91,000 in a bear market low or $650,000 in a bull market high, assuming asset managers fully allocate investment to Bitcoin. The projections hinge on factors such as the pace of Bitcoin adoption and regulatory developments in Europe and Asia.

Bitcoin Set to Soar Despite Pressure, Analyst Predicts

Despite Price Pressures, Bitcoin Poised for Surge to New Heights, Says On-Chain Analyst

Even amid persistent selling pressure, renowned on-chain analyst Willy Woo remains bullish on Bitcoin's prospects, predicting a surge to unprecedented valuations driven by the launch of new exchange-traded funds (ETFs). In a recent post, Woo outlined a compelling case for Bitcoin's potential to soar to $91,000 in a bear market downturn and an astronomical $650,000 in a bull market upturn.

Asset Managers Hold the Key

However, Woo emphasizes that these extraordinary price targets hinge on the assumption that leading asset managers will fully allocate their recommended Bitcoin holdings. According to Fidelity, a prominent investment firm, asset managers should allocate approximately 2% of their portfolios to Bitcoin. This translates to a potential $2 trillion inflow into the cryptocurrency.

Robust Adoption and On-Chain Metrics

Woo's bullish sentiment is further underpinned by the rising adoption of Bitcoin and favorable on-chain metrics. He estimates that capital flows from non-custodial wallets could further amplify the surge due to increased crypto adoption.

Additionally, using the Market Value to Realized Value (MVRV) ratio, Woo calculates that Bitcoin could reach a market cap of $650,000 in a bull cycle. The MVRV ratio compares market capitalization to on-chain investment, providing insights into the potential for price appreciation.

Long-Term Bull Run

Woo believes that Bitcoin, akin to gold, is poised for a prolonged bull run spanning over a decade. He anticipates that emerging regulations in Europe and Asia, coupled with increased adoption, will pave the way for Bitcoin's ascent to $91,000 and $650,000.

Current Price Range and Future Outlook

Despite recent price fluctuations, Bitcoin remains within a range, with upper and lower bounds of $73,800 and $61,000, respectively. As long as prices trade within this zone, the uptrend remains intact.

Excluding Non-Custodial Wallets

It is important to note that Woo's projections exclude inflows from non-custodial wallets, which are likely to contribute to the overall surge due to increased crypto adoption.
