Bitcoin Rallies on Eased Inflation—Still, Qubetics, TON, and Cosmos Remain as Top Cryptos to Hold for Short Term

May 24, 2025 at 04:30 pm

As Bitcoin rallies on cooling inflation, Qubetics' $17.3M presale, TON's Telegram boost, and Cosmos' interchain upgrades keep them ranked among the top cryptos to hold for short term.

Bitcoin Rallies on Eased Inflation—Still, Qubetics, TON, and Cosmos Remain as Top Cryptos to Hold for Short Term

As U.S. inflation cools faster than expected and Bitcoin pushes into a fresh upswing, crypto is back in the headlines for all the right reasons. But while the majors surge, some under-the-radar projects are gaining quiet momentum.

With its latest integration rolling out and covering over 900 million Telegram users, the platform’s shift toward mini apps, token-based services, and payment options has made TON the de facto chain for user-centric crypto utility. According to ABC Money, more than 30% of Telegram-based app developers have already shifted toward TON-native implementations.

This makes it interesting for participants scanning top crypto to hold for short term. It is said that Toncoin’s ability to scale rapidly within Telegram’s user base has set it apart from other L1s.

But it isn’t just about numbers—the types of dapps being built on TON also highlight the platform’s strengths. Features like instant payments, gaming rewards, and decentralized identity on TON have become sticky, pushing active wallet numbers up by 40% quarter-over-quarter. The TVL (total value locked) in TON-linked DeFi also doubled within the last 60 days, showing that engagement isn’t just speculative—it’s practical.

However, questions remain around external adoption beyond Telegram’s walled garden. While Toncoin’s short-term momentum is strong, especially from an exposure standpoint, it lacks the multi-chain tooling or deep developer infrastructure that other protocols are offering.

For participants scouting top crypto to hold for short term, Toncoin is hot but may be more dependent on ecosystem concentration than its competitors.

As detailed on Binance Square, Cosmos is reinforcing its position as the go-to chain for interoperability with a new upgrade that brings major enhancements to the Interchain Security (ICS) protocol.

The latest iteration enables multiple consumer chains to share validator sets with a smaller number of providers, facilitating scalability without compromising decentralization. This evolution is critical as Cosmos aims to become the backbone for app-chain scalability in the long term.

To streamline the onboarding process further, Cosmos has also rolled out Replicated Security v2, a framework that minimizes validator coordination overhead and facilitates faster integration of new chains. Early benchmarks indicate a 35% reduction in integration times, and there has been a steady increase in participation from new entrants.

This renders Cosmos highly efficient for Layer-1 customization, making it a more practical infrastructure play for 2025 compared to protocols focused on monolithic platforms.

Yet, despite its contributions to interoperability and the growing interchain ecosystem, Cosmos remains largely an ecosystem-first chain. It doesn’t offer the hands-on development frameworks that are enabling startups and global builders to expand rapidly on Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Solana.

While platforms like Cosmos are a crucial piece of infrastructure for many Layer-1s, those scanning for short-term upside with presale exposure and scalable ROI might find another protocol a more flexible, time-sensitive opportunity among the top crypto to hold for short term.
