Bitcoin Predicted to Triple Market Cap, Hitting $265,000 Milestone
May 09, 2024 at 01:59 am
According to CryptoQuant founder Ki Young Ju, Bitcoin's (BTC) price could potentially triple its market capitalization and surpass $260,000. Young Ju's analysis suggests that Bitcoin's fundamentals support a market cap three times its current size and highlights the ongoing volatility and resilience of the Bitcoin network. The hash rate to market cap ratio has increased significantly in 2024, indicating a potential surge in market activity and investor interest. If this ratio continues to grow, Young Ju believes it could sustain Bitcoin's price at $265,000.

Bitcoin Projected to Triple Market Capitalization, Hitting $265,000
According to Ki Young Ju, founder and CEO of on-chain and market analytics firm CryptoQuant, Bitcoin's (BTC) bullish trajectory could propel its price beyond $260,000, tripling its current market capitalization.
Young Ju's analysis, outlined in a recent post on Twitter, draws upon a chart that juxtaposes BTC's price and hash rate with its market capitalization ratio. This ratio indicates a potential surge in market activity and investor confidence, as evidenced by the significant increase in Bitcoin's hash rate to market cap ratio during 2024.
Sustained growth in this ratio, according to Young Ju, could potentially drive Bitcoin's price to $265,000. Crypto analyst and trader Crypto Ceaser corroborates this view, noting that Bitcoin has formed a bullish cup-and-handle pattern on the weekly chart, a pattern typically associated with a continuation of an uptrend.
The confirmation of this chart pattern projects a surge in BTC towards the technical target of $273,693, aligning with Young Ju's bullish projection. However, Ceaser cautions that BTC's price is currently in a "critical area," as it attempts to consolidate below its all-time highs.
Despite this consolidation, Ceaser anticipates a strong rally to the upside if Bitcoin can trend above its all-time highs this summer, potentially resulting in a shorter cycle. Willy Woo, a renowned crypto analyst and co-founder of CMCC Crest, emphasizes the need for Bitcoin to remain above its short-term holder price of $59,500 to maintain its bullish momentum.
Glassnode analysts have observed that the average short-term holder acquisition price has acted as a significant support level during bullish trends, a trend that has been evident during the recent correction below $59,800.
While some traders advocate for a decisive daily candlestick close above the 50-day simple moving average (SMA) as a confirmation of the bullish trend, others, like Lark Davis, believe that a breakout above the 50-day SMA would provide a bullish signal.
Negentropic, an account run by the co-founders of Glassnode, predicts that once BTC breaks through the 65-66K level, it will move towards 73.5K and then 76.5K, with a potential surge to 85.2K before the summer.
Crypto trader Daan Crypto Traders notes that Bitcoin's volatility is gradually cooling off within the current range but remains low compared to the previous cycle, indicating potential volatility as the price leaves this range.
