Bitcoin Poised for Massive Breakout, Analysts Predict Surge to $85K
May 10, 2024 at 02:05 am
Glassnode analysts predict a significant Bitcoin (BTC) surge after a 7% weekly gain. They observe a bullish pennant pattern, a Fibonacci retracement level between $60,000 - $61,800, and a potential completion of an ABC correction. These indicators suggest a breakout, with potential targets of $73,500, $76,500, and $85,200 before summer begins on June 20th.

Bitcoin Poised for Massive Breakout as Analysts Predict Soaring Prices
In a groundbreaking analysis, the co-founders of Glassnode, a renowned crypto analytics platform, have unveiled compelling evidence suggesting that Bitcoin (BTC) is on the cusp of a significant price surge. This bullish outlook follows a remarkable 7% gain in the past week.
Under the enigmatic pseudonym "Negentropic" on the social media platform X, the Glassnode analysts have shared their insights with over 62,900 followers, painting a compelling picture of Bitcoin's imminent ascent. Their meticulous analysis focuses on key technical indicators that hint at a massive breakout.
At the heart of their analysis lies the observation that Bitcoin appears to be forming a bullish pennant pattern. This technical formation is characterized by two converging trendlines, with a parallel upward movement in price, creating a pennant-like shape. Historically, pennant patterns have been a precursor to significant upward breakouts.
Furthermore, the analysts suggest that Bitcoin is currently undergoing a corrective phase, retracing to a Fibonacci level in the low $60,000 range. This level has often served as a robust support zone, signaling a continuation of an upward trend.
"BTC still looks like it is about to blow higher!" the Negentropic analysts exclaimed in their analysis. "Last week's candle was a clear reversal candle – a hammer with a long wick. Price moved back into the pennant structure. This candle still dominates the structure. This week's pullback, hence, seems like a healthy correction before higher. Corrections often pull back either 50% or 61.8% of the previous impulse move."
Delving into their chart analysis, the analysts postulate that Bitcoin has completed or is nearing the completion of a three-wave ABC correction. Elliott Wave theory, a widely adopted technical analysis tool, suggests that a bullish asset often experiences a fresh leg up following an ABC correction consisting of three wave impulses.
Armed with these compelling indicators, the Negentropic analysts confidently predict that Bitcoin could break through the $85,000 resistance level before the start of summer, which officially begins on June 20th.
"BTC is currently in the process of breaking the trendline of the pennant and the 50-day SMA (simple moving average)," they elaborated. "When the level of $65,000-$66,000 is broken, BTC will move on to first $73,500, then $76,500, and chances are that we see $85,200 before the summer."
At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $62,016, experiencing a slight dip in the past 24 hours. However, the analysts' bullish outlook remains unwavering, as they anticipate a substantial price appreciation in the near future.
Their analysis aligns with the broader sentiment in the crypto community, which has grown increasingly optimistic in recent weeks. As Bitcoin continues to consolidate its position as a mainstream asset, analysts and investors alike are eagerly anticipating the next leg of its upward trajectory.
