Bitcoin Plunges: Temporary Hiccup or Serious Correction?
Apr 14, 2024 at 11:07 am
Bitcoin's price has faced considerable bearish pressure, influenced by global factors. The market experienced a sharp decline, and analysts debate whether the current pullback offers a buying opportunity below $65,000 or if a further dip below $60,000 is likely. The RSI's movement suggests a similarity to previous price action, indicating potential for a final pullback before a significant upward surge.

Bitcoin's Recent Dive: A Temporary Setback or a Larger Correction?
Bitcoin's value has been under significant downward pressure over the past few days as selling activity has intensified following a sharp decline. Global factors have played a major role in this pullback, which is expected to diminish the impact of the upcoming halving event.
While Bitcoin has experienced a substantial drop, other prominent altcoins have also suffered similar setbacks. Market analysts view this pullback as a healthy correction at this juncture. However, the rapid progression of the rally has raised concerns about its sustainability, leading to speculation about a potential "black swan" event. However, the current trend appears to mirror the dynamics of the previous cycle.
A Deeper Look at the Pullback
The recent trading session witnessed a steep decline in Bitcoin's price, reaching lows of $60,660 before rebounding to near $64,000. This suggests that traders anticipated a drop close to $60,000, casting a bearish shadow over the cryptocurrency.
Despite generally bullish market sentiment, Bitcoin's trajectory resembles its previous run-up, indicating that a final pullback may occur before a significant upward movement.
Potential Drop Below $60,000
An analysis of the Relative Strength Index (RSI) reveals a repeating pattern reminiscent of the previous price action. When the RSI previously broke below consolidation, Bitcoin's price plummeted from highs exceeding $46,000 to lows around $38,600.
A similar pattern appears to be unfolding as Bitcoin's third attempt to breach the final resistance zone between $72,279 and $73,779 has been met with resistance, potentially escalating selling pressure on the cryptocurrency.
If the price adheres to the previous cycle, traders may have another opportunity to acquire Bitcoin at more favorable prices. As the price previously fell below critical support levels, the likelihood of Bitcoin dipping below $60,000 and reaching key support around $58,808 has increased.
However, it is important to note that global tensions have also contributed to the recent decline, which may lead to Bitcoin remaining within a consolidated range for several days.
A Bullish Rebound on the Horizon
Nevertheless, once the RSI reaches its lower threshold and triggers a rebound, a renewed bullish trend may emerge, propelling prices towards new highs, potentially exceeding $75,000.
