Bitcoin Plummets, Signaling Bearish Trend

May 02, 2024 at 06:04 pm

Bitcoin is demonstrating bearish tendencies below the $60,000 support level, with a potential breakdown indicated below a crucial parabolic curve on weekly charts. If this breakdown materializes, BTC/USD could plunge by approximately 15%, targeting support zones at $52,000 or even $44,500.

Bitcoin Price Plummets, Signaling a Bearish Trend

New Delhi, India (CoinChapter.com) - Bitcoin's price is plummeting, grappling with bearish momentum beneath the crucial $60,000 support level. Analysts warn that a weekly close below this threshold could trigger a further decline towards $44,500, a significant 15% depreciation.

Technical Analysis Points to Breakdown

In recent analyses, experts have emphasized the pivotal role of a weekly close below $60,000. Bitcoin's inability to rally above $65,000 resistance has triggered a sharp downturn, breaching the $63,500 and $62,200 support levels.

Moreover, BTC has fallen beneath the 23.6% Fibonacci retracement level, further confirming the bearish trend. The price is on the verge of breaking below a critical parabolic curve at $60,000 on the weekly chart.

Bearish Momentum Intensifies

Current price action suggests a continued decline if Bitcoin closes below the parabolic curve this week. Such a scenario could lead to a drop towards the $52,000 support zone.

The initial major support lies around $44,500, coinciding with the 50% Fibonacci retracement level. The next line of defense is the 50-week simple moving average (SMA) at $40,000. Here, bulls may mount a strong resistance to prevent further losses in the medium term.

Can Bulls Avert a Downward Spiral?

Despite the bearish outlook, Bitcoin could potentially avoid a weekly close beneath $60,000 and regain lost ground in the coming sessions. The immediate resistance on the upside is $59,500, followed by a crucial level at $60,000.

A break above $60,000 could spark a sustained rally, targeting the $63,500 resistance. The primary breakout zone remains at $65,000, above which Bitcoin could accelerate towards $70,000.

Overall Bearish Outlook

Overall, Bitcoin is displaying multiple bearish signals below $60,000 and $59,500. Bears appear to be orchestrating a significant correction towards $52,000 or even $44,500. Traders should monitor the weekly close this week closely to gauge the market's direction and potential for further decline.
