Bitcoin Hodlers Can Now Trade Using Their Assets as Collateral

Retail bitcoin traders might only consider buying and selling through the ups and downs of market cycles. But increasingly, traders are turning to options to profit no matter which direction prices are headed.

In a recent discussion, Roundtable anchor, Rob Nelson, sat down with Minotaur Trading Systems CEO Kosta Ouzas and CTO Sebastian Raffaele to dive into the nuances of "hodling" versus trading bitcoin. They explored innovative methods to maximize returns without selling the asset, emphasizing the importance of understanding market dynamics.

Nelson kicked off the discussion by highlighting the dilemma faced by average investors who are cautious about making mistakes with their bitcoin investments. He noted that some people are advised to simply hold onto their bitcoin rather than trade it due to the risks involved. Sebastian Raffaele addressed this by pointing out a critical issue with "hodling:" It locks up capital, making it unavailable for other opportunities when the market is down.

Raffaele emphasized the need for a balanced approach, suggesting that even small amounts of bitcoin can be used to generate returns. "The amount you have is not relevant," he said, stressing the importance of understanding the long-term game in investing. He encouraged investors to be patient and not expect overnight success.

Kosta Ouzas introduced Minotaur Trading Systems' innovative solution, which allows bitcoin holders to use their assets as collateral for trading. This system enables investors to generate daily returns while still holding onto their bitcoin. He explained that their platform supports trading with various tokens, though they primarily focus on bitcoin due to its widespread understanding and acceptance.

The discussion also touched on the flexibility of their trading system, which can be adapted to different tokens and markets. Nelson inquired about the possibility of using bitcoin collateral to trade other cryptocurrencies like ethereum. Ouzas confirmed that their system could facilitate such trades, depending on the exchange's regulations.
