Bitcoin Hits $56K Low, Analysts Predict Bottom Reached
May 01, 2024 at 11:41 pm
Despite bearish forces causing a 22% price decline for Bitcoin over the past month, analysts express confidence that the asset has reached its bottom. As the crypto market experienced a significant downturn, Bitcoin fell to $56,555, the lowest level since March's all-time high. However, analysts such as Rekt Capital, Michaël van de Poppe, and Sergio Tesla believe that the $56K-$58K range represents the final stage of price consolidation and will trigger a recovery rally to higher thresholds.

Bitcoin Price Plunges to $56K, Analysts See Bottom in Sight
After a relentless sell-off over the past month, Bitcoin (BTC) has plummeted to its lowest level since the March bull run, sparking concerns among investors. However, a chorus of analysts are now expressing confidence that the bleeding has reached its nadir and that a recovery is on the horizon.
Yesterday, the crypto market witnessed a bloodbath as Bitcoin bears drove the asset back to the critical $50K level, last seen before the all-time high of $73,750. At press time, Bitcoin had plunged to an intraday low of $56,555, marking a 9% drop from the $60K range. The sell-off triggered a ripple effect across the altcoin market, with Dogecoin (DOGE) and Toncoin (TON) registering double-digit percentage losses.
Notably, Bitcoin's downward spiral has persisted for nearly five weeks, with the asset shedding 22.35% of its ATH value. However, this prolonged decline has also emboldened analysts who believe that the market may have reached its tipping point.
Analysts Predict Bitcoin Price Rebound
In a recent Bitcoin analysis, Rekt Capital highlighted that the drop to $56K represents the most significant decline in the current Bitcoin cycle. Historically, similar 20% corrections have often been followed by sustained rallies to higher price levels.
"This is officially the deepest retrace in the cycle (-23.6%)," Rekt Capital noted in a tweet.
Echoing this sentiment, renowned analyst Michaël van de Poppe suggested that Bitcoin has approached the final stages of its price consolidation. While acknowledging the potential for further retracement, he emphasized that the $56K to $58K range will be a key observation zone. He also predicted that altcoins could recover earlier than Bitcoin.
Crypto statistician Sergio Tesla shared a similar bullish outlook, aligning with the views of van de Poppe and Rekt Capital. Notably, Tesla accurately predicted the recent $56K crash during Bitcoin's surge to its ATH in March. Despite the emotionally taxing nature of the decline, Tesla believes that $56K marks the bottom for Bitcoin before a substantial rebound.
"From the top, $80k took 36 days, $56k took 42 days," Tesla said in a Twitter post. "I still believe we rally much faster than we dip."
Market Sentiment Remains Mixed
As of press time, Bitcoin is trading at $57,495, showing a modest gain of $1,000 following the steep decline. Despite the bullish sentiment expressed by analysts, the market remains volatile, and investors are advised to proceed with caution.
While the recent price action suggests that the market is finding its footing, it is essential to remember that the cryptocurrency landscape is highly speculative. The current rally could prove to be a dead cat bounce or the beginning of a sustained recovery. As always, investors should conduct their own research and invest only what they can afford to lose.
