Over the past 24 hours, Bitcoin's BTC/USD price has risen 3.77% to $56,881.00. This is contrary to its negative trend over the past week

Bitcoin (BTC) Price Today - BTC/USD

Bitcoin BTC/USD price rose on Monday, continuing its recovery from last week's lows. However, the coin remained below the key resistance level of $58,000.

Bitcoin price started the week with gains, rising 3.77% in the past 24 hours to trade at $56,881.00 (BTC/USD). The world’s leading cryptocurrency began the past week trading at $57,820.09, and dropped as low as $55,000 at one point.

Despite the gains, Bitcoin price is still down 1.0% over the past seven days. From its all-time high of $73,738.00, the coin has lost 22.6%.

The chart below compares the price movement and volatility for Bitcoin over the past 24 hours (left) to its price movement over the past week (right). The gray bands are Bollinger Bands, measuring the volatility for both the daily and weekly price movements. The wider the bands are, or the larger the gray area is at any given moment, the larger the volatility.

The trading volume for the coin has increased over the past week. Commencing the past seven days with a trading volume of about $62 billion, the coin dropped to as low as $48 billion at one point.

Despite the decrease in trading volume, it began to recover towards the end of the past week. As of Monday, the trading volume for Bitcoin stood at about $78 billion, indicating an increase of 38.0% from last Monday.

The total circulating supply of the coin has decreased by 0.89% over the past week. Commencing the past seven days with a circulating supply of about 19.18 million, the coin dropped to as low as 19.10 million at one point.

However, the circulating supply began to increase slightly towards the end of the past week. As of Monday, the total circulating supply of Bitcoin stood at about 19.28 out of its max supply of 21.00 million. This puts the coin’s circulating supply at an estimated 94.06% of its max supply.

According to CoinGecko, the world’s leading cryptocurrency is ranked first by market cap, with a market cap dominance of 54.7%. The second and third cryptocurrencies, Ethereum ETH/USD and Binance Coin BNB/USD, have market cap dominances of 18.0% and 4.0%, respectively.

Bitcoin price recovered from lows last week, but key resistance remained at $58,000.
