Bitcoin (BTC) Hashrate and Mining Difficulty Increases Unaffected by Recent Market Events

The Bitcoin (BTC) mining hashrate has not been impacted by recent events in the market, such as the unfortunate collapse of CrowdStrike. The hashrate saw a notable increase, which coincides with the current rally in the price of BTC.

BTC Hashrate and Mining Difficulty Rising

According to the chart from Coinwarz, the current mining difficulty for BTC is now set at 82.05 trillion. The value reported for block 853,077 shows that the difficulty in mining Bitcoin has remained unchanged, with a 0.00% increase over the past 24 hours.

Over the past week, the BTC hashrate has seen a 3.21% increase. While there was a decrease of 1.95% over the past 30 days, the metric has dropped by 5.02% in the prior 90 days.

The upcoming change in Bitcoin difficulty is expected on July 31, 2024, at around 04:30:50 PM UTC. Today, the difficulty of mining Bitcoin is expected to increase from 82.05 trillion to 88.54 trillion, a change that will occur throughout 1,707 blocks.

Bitcoin mining difficulty is a quantitative measure that indicates the level of difficulty in mining the next block. The metric serves as a numerical representation of the hashes required to find a valid solution for solving the next Bitcoin block and obtaining the mining reward.

The metric is subject to regular adjustments. As more hashing power is applied to the Bitcoin network, the difficulty level is also increased to maintain a balanced rate of block generation. To regulate this, a mechanism called difficulty re-target block is implemented to adjust the difficulty either upwards or downwards.

Bitcoin Price Heads Towards $70,000

In the daily chart, the price of BTC showed a significant and rapid V-shaped recovery from the support level of $53,500 today. The coin had a strong upward trend during a period of increasing BTC hashrate, which resulted in a 24.86% surge in its value, bringing Bitcoin to a trading price of $66,597. Similarly, the market capitalization shot up to $1.315 trillion within the same time frame.

Currently, the price of BTC is trading at $67,151.90, showing a 0.77% increase over the past 24 hours. The bounce is noted to have been driven by several factors, including the resumption of inflows into spot Bitcoin ETFs. As the market capitalization of the company continues to recover, it has now crossed the 1.3 trillion mark. However, recent statistics on Bitcoin trade volume show an unexpected decrease.

According to data from CoinMarketCap, the trading volume of Bitcoin (BTC) has seen an increase of 29.14% in the past 24 hours. Bitcoin (BTC) maintains the second-highest trading volume in the digital asset market, with an impressive 23,328,879,874. As long as the BTC hashrate remains stable, Bitcoin is likely to reach new milestones.
