Bitcoin and Altcoins Soar After Halving, Defying Bearish Forecasts
Apr 22, 2024 at 03:09 pm
Post-Bitcoin halving, the cryptocurrency market has seen an uptrend. Despite predictions of selling pressure, Bitcoin and major altcoins have shown potential for growth next week. Market liquidations exceeded $100 million, with Bitcoin's market dominance declining while altcoin dominance rose significantly. Analysts expect a strong Bitcoin price rebound and potential altcoin gains as accumulation increases.

Bitcoin and Altcoins Surge as Market Defies Halving Expectations
The cryptocurrency market has embarked on an upward trajectory following Bitcoin's fourth halving event on Sunday, May 11th, 2024, defying the pessimistic predictions of analysts who anticipated immediate selling pressure. In a remarkable turn of events, Bitcoin and major altcoins have exhibited resilience and are poised for further gains.
Market Liquidations and Bitcoin's Declining Power
Coinglass data indicates that the crypto market has witnessed liquidations exceeding $113 million over the past 24 hours. Notably, Bitcoin's market dominance has diminished, with a weekly decline of 2.3% and a daily loss of 0.16%. Conversely, altcoins have experienced a surge in dominance, rising 7.9% for the week.
Altcoin Accumulation and Potential Growth
Analysts anticipate a robust rebound in Bitcoin prices next week, with altcoins also expected to ascend as they continue to accumulate value. The halving event has instilled a corrective sentiment among Bitcoin holders, wherein even minor fluctuations in its price can trigger significant increases in altcoin prices, given the growing prevalence of altcoins.
Bitcoin Price Analysis
The Bitcoin (BTC) price has rebounded significantly in the past 24 hours, recovering from a low of $63,000 and currently hovering above $65,000. Buyers and sellers are engaged in an intense battle at the $66,000 resistance level, with each dip met with renewed buying pressure.
A successful breakout above the $66,000 resistance could face further resistance from sellers. However, a significant rally from this point could propel the price above $70,000 next week, potentially retesting its all-time high.
Conversely, if the bears succeed in pushing the price below the moving average, it suggests that the BTC/USDT pair could consolidate between $65,000 and $60,000 for some time.
Solana Price Analysis
Solana (SOL) has exhibited stability around the $125 mark recently, indicating strong buyer interest. The price has rallied to over $150 in recent days and is targeting the $200 level next week.
The SOL/USDT pair is likely to approach its 200-day exponential moving average (EMA) of $159, a critical level to monitor. A sharp decline from this point could embolden the bears to push the pair below $126. If successful, the downtrend could extend towards $100.
Alternatively, a rise above the 200-day EMA could signal easing bearish pressure. The next resistance level resides at $162, and overcoming this could lead to a surge towards $185.
Dogecoin Price Analysis
The Dogecoin (DOGE) price has rebounded from its lows of $0.14 and is attempting to regain momentum. Buyers are aggressively testing higher levels, anticipating a retest of its previous high.
The DOGE/USDT pair is expected to rise towards its 200-day EMA of $0.17, a pivotal level to watch. If buyers can break above this threshold, the pair could approach the key resistance of $0.187. Once this barrier is breached, DOGE could target $0.22.
However, strong buying interest is evident in the $0.14-$0.12 range. A break below this support could trigger a sharp decline towards the crucial support level of $0.10 next week.
Conclusion
The cryptocurrency market is poised for continued growth, defying expectations and exhibiting resilience. Bitcoin's dominance is waning, while altcoins are accumulating value and expected to rise in the coming days. Analysts remain optimistic about the potential for further gains in Bitcoin, altcoins, and the crypto market as a whole.
