It's a bird, it's a plane, it's a conflict of interest

In February, I wrote a column for the Free Press wondering at the “all-inness” of many of President Donald Trump's supporters.

"Emolument" is a noun with the phonetic transcription /ɪˈmɒl.jə.mənt/. It's defined as payment for work, usually in the form of money or something else of value. The meaning of emolument is closely related to salary or compensation. For instance, one might speak of the emoluments of office, referring to the salary and benefits derived from holding a position of authority, or the emoluments of service, highlighting the remuneration received for work performed. In essence, emolument encompasses any valuable benefit, tangible or intangible, received in return for labor or service.
