A week after launching its first “Vote to List” batch, Binance announced four listed meme coins: CZ’s Dog (BROCCOLI714), Mubarak (MUBARAK), Banana For Scale (BANANAS31), and Tutorial (TUT). While some welcome Binance’s embrace of mainstream trends – meme coins, others remain skeptical, seeing meme coins as entertainment-driven with few use cases.

Binance’s Recent Overfocus on Meme Coins
Recently, Binance announced its 34th Binance Alpha batch, featuring new tokens: $GHIBLI (@ghiblifi), $GHIBLI (@GhibliCz), and $KILO (KiloEx_perp), with 2 out of 3 being meme coins. This move further reinforces Binance’s growing focus on the meme coin trend, following its first Vote to List batch and the listing on multiple meme coins like MUBARAK and GHIBLI.
Speculation is also rising that the second batch of Vote to List could feature a Binance-themed meme coin to aggregate liquidity into Binance and BNB Chain.
However, the community is divided on this strategy. Many believe Binance should limit the listing frequency of purely entertainment-driven meme coins with no real use cases. This approach could damage Binance’s reputation, making it appear like a lower-quality, less trustworthy exchange.
The meme coin wave is inherently unsustainable and short-lived, merely riding current market trends. Instead, Binance should consider more sustainable solutions like WIO (Wallet Initial Offering), which could serve as a bridge between DEX and CEX, thereby ensuring a continuous capital flow and maximizing the utility of BNB Chain in the long run.
