The exchange, which is officially registered with the Financial Intelligence Unit-India (FIU-IND), is also undertaking a re-verification of Know Your Customer (KYC) details as part of its commitment to aligning with India’s anti-money laundering (AML) regulations.

As part of its registered status with FIU-IND, Binance complies with the country’s AML legislation, which is focused on curbing financial crime and promoting a transparent digital financial environment.

As such, Binance is collecting Permanent Account Number (PAN) details as part of its updated KYC protocols, which are now rolling out to all users in India, including those who have previously registered and are continuing to use the platform. This requirement for PAN details is in line with obligations on digital asset exchanges—both local and global—that are registered under Indian AML regulations.

This move underscores the increasing focus on complete traceability and accountability within the digital asset ecosystem in India.
