Binance Customers Shatter Records in Saga Token Launchpool Campaign
Apr 05, 2024 at 10:51 pm
Binance customers have staked more than $13.1 billion worth of Binance Coin (BNB) and the FDUSD stablecoin to earn a share of the 45 million SAGA tokens being offered up through the platform, or half of the token's initial circulating supply. Saga declared the earlier $13 billion mark a record on Twitter Friday, and based on Decrypt's own analysis of past Launchpool campaigns, that does appear to be the case.

Binance Customers Shatter Records in Saga Token Launchpool Campaign
In the lead-up to the highly anticipated listing of the SAGA token next week, Binance customers have set a new record for the most cryptocurrency staked to earn SAGA rewards through the exchange's Launchpool campaign platform.
Binance users have staked a staggering $13.1 billion worth of Binance Coin (BNB) and the FDUSD stablecoin to secure a share of the 45 million SAGA tokens being offered up through the platform, accounting for half of the token's initial circulating supply.
Saga took to Twitter on Friday to announce this remarkable milestone, surpassing the previous record of $13 billion set by another gaming token, Portal (PORTAL), on Binance Launchpool in February. However, the surge in BNB's price since then has propelled SAGA to become the largest Launchpool campaign in Binance's history.
"This is huge news for Saga and the entire blockchain gaming community," said Rebecca Liao, co-founder and CEO of Saga. "It shows that there is significant interest in our project and the potential of our layer-1 blockchain."
Saga is a layer-1 blockchain specifically designed to support the creation and operation of blockchain games. It features a unique architecture that allows multiple "chainlets" to run in parallel, enabling faster and more efficient processing of game transactions.
"Our goal is to make it easier for developers to create and launch high-quality blockchain games," Liao explained. "We believe that Saga has the potential to revolutionize the gaming industry."
In the run-up to its expected mainnet launch this month, Saga has held numerous play-to-airdrop gaming competitions and rewarded winners with SAGA tokens. Additionally, approximately 80% of projects building on the Saga testnet are related to gaming.
The record-breaking response to the Binance Launchpool campaign is a testament to the growing excitement surrounding Saga and its potential to transform the gaming landscape. With nearly 370,000 Binance users participating in the campaign, Saga is poised to attract a vast and diverse audience of SAGA holders.
"We are thrilled with the response we have received from the Binance community," Liao said. "It is a clear indication that there is a strong demand for SAGA tokens and a belief in the future of Saga."
As the SAGA token prepares for its listing on Binance on April 9, Saga's team is confident that the project will continue to gather momentum and play a significant role in the growth of the blockchain gaming industry.
