Binance Coin (BNB) Range-Bound, Bears Aim for Further Decline

Apr 18, 2024 at 09:00 am

Binance Coin (BNB) finds itself within a trading range of $505 to $630, facing a potential downward move. The presence of buy walls at $520 and $510 suggests a test of the range low, while a surge in spot CVD indicates potential demand that could keep prices above $505. Conversely, a muted trading volume and a bearish RSI suggest a prevailing downward momentum. Overall, indicators favor a move towards the $460-$475 region, but some doubts persist.

Binance Coin (BNB) Range-Bound, Bears Aim for Further Decline

Binance Coin (BNB) Fluctuates Within Narrow Range, Bears Eye Further Decline

Binance Coin (BNB), the native token of the popular Binance cryptocurrency exchange, has been trading within a tight range since March 19th, oscillating between $505 and $630. Currently, the coin is poised to retest the lower end of this range.

Over the past week, BNB has experienced less volatility compared to other prominent cryptocurrencies, offering some respite for investors. However, market analysts caution against complacency, highlighting underlying bearish sentiment.

Technical Indicators Suggest Bearish Momentum

Trading volume for BNB has remained relatively low over the past month, spiking only on April 12th and 13th during a period of intensified selling pressure. This decline in volume has been accompanied by a drop in the On-Balance Volume (OBV) indicator below its month-long support level, further bolstering the case for bearish sentiment.

The Relative Strength Index (RSI) indicator is also below the neutral 50 mark, reflecting downward momentum.

Order Book Data Highlights Potential Support and Resistance

An analysis of the order book data reveals the presence of significant buy walls at $520 and $510, representing $1.51 million and $2.32 million worth of limit buy orders, respectively. These buy walls coincide with the lower end of the trading range, indicating that they could soon be tested by sellers.

Conversely, the $580 and $585 levels also feature notable buy walls, suggesting a potential resistance zone that could limit BNB's upward movement.

Open Interest and CVD Indicators Paint Mixed Picture

The Open Interest chart for BNB has remained largely dormant since the sharp declines on April 13th, suggesting that speculators are hesitant to take long positions and prefer to wait for volatility to subside.

On the other hand, the Spot CVD indicator experienced a sharp increase on April 14th, followed by a gradual decline. This influx of demand could potentially buoy BNB prices above the $505 range low.

Liquidation Heatmap Points to Potential Downside Risk

A review of the liquidation heatmap reveals the $475 level as the next region of interest for potential selling pressure. The absence of significant liquidation levels between $500 and $510 suggests that the $475 zone could be a magnet for short-term price declines.

Overall Bearish Bias, but Upside Potential Remains

Overall, the technical indicators and market conditions currently favor a move towards the $460-$475 region for BNB. However, the presence of buy walls and a potential influx of demand could mitigate the downside risk. Investors should exercise caution and monitor market dynamics closely for any signs of a bullish resurgence.
