Billionaire Tim Draper Predicts Bitcoin Will Replace Dollar in 10 Years

Billionaire investor Tim Draper believes Bitcoin will overtake the U.S. dollar as the dominant global currency within the next decade.
Billionaire investor Tim Draper predicts that Bitcoin will overtake the U.S. dollar as the dominant global currency within the next decade.
This shift, which Draper believes could happen in ten years or less, will mark the end of fiat money as we know it.
Draper, known for his bullish Bitcoin calls, previously predicted the apex coin would hit $250,000 by the end of 2025.
However, he now claims that BTC’s value will become “infinite” against the dollar once fiat is no longer used.
“If I can pay for food, housing, and even taxes in Bitcoin, there’s no point in holding dollars,” stated Draper.
He highlighted Bitcoin’s inherent security, efficiency, and trust compared to traditional banking systems, which have faced growing skepticism—especially following the 2023 collapse of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and the subsequent shutdowns of Signature and Silvergate banks.
Many within the crypto community suspect these closures were part of a broader government-backed initiative, possibly Operation Chokepoint 2.0, to sever ties between crypto firms and the financial system.
Draper further expressed his disapproval of U.S. tariffs imposed by President Trump, deeming them "anti-free trade" and suggesting they accelerated dollar devaluation and facilitated Bitcoin’s ascent.
Indeed, the U.S. Dollar Index declined 8% to 99.96 by early 2025, marking its lowest point since April 2022.
While acknowledging the role of stablecoins as a temporary bridge, Draper sees them fundamentally flawed like fiat.
He believes Bitcoin’s superior technology and decentralized nature will ultimately make it the global standard for both storing and transferring value.
This view aligns with the increasing adoption of Bitcoin by institutions and governments worldwide.
