Avail Partners With dWallet Network To Introduce Native Bitcoin Rollups to Web3 – CryptoMode

Apr 02, 2024 at 09:02 pm

Avail collaborates with dWallet Network to offer programmable native Bitcoin on rollups within the Avail ecosystem. Through the newly implemented dWallet primitive, smart contracts utilizing rollups built on Avail DA can manage native BTC programmatically for the first time, preserving user ownership.

Avail Partners With dWallet Network To Introduce Native Bitcoin Rollups to Web3 – CryptoMode

Avail and dWallet Network Forge Alliance to Bring Native Bitcoin to Rollups, Revolutionizing Web3 Interoperability

Dubai, United Arab Emirates - April 2, 2024

Avail, the groundbreaking blockchain solution designed to unify Web3 and optimize data availability (DA), has joined forces with dWallet Network, a pioneering non-collusive, decentralized multi-chain layer. This partnership marks a monumental leap forward in the evolution of Web3, as it introduces programmable native Bitcoin to rollups within the Avail ecosystem.

Harnessing the cutting-edge dWallet primitive, smart contracts utilizing rollups built on Avail DA will possess the unprecedented ability to programmatically manage native BTC while preserving user ownership. This represents a paradigm shift from existing Bitcoin L2 solutions that heavily rely on collusive and potentially risky cross-chain mechanisms like bridges, where users relinquish control over their BTC.

"Allowing BTC to be seamlessly integrated into other blockchains through a trust-minimized approach is a game-changer for driving BTC adoption," said Anurag Arjun, co-founder of Avail. "In collaboration with dWallet, we are paving the way for Layer-2 chains or rollups to leverage the Bitcoin network's unparalleled security and stability. This integration will empower users to harness advanced execution and logic to safeguard their BTC through a decentralized multiparty computation (MPC) solution."

The essence of this partnership lies in leveraging dWallet's MPC infrastructure to enhance Bitcoin's capabilities by enabling the creation of native Bitcoin rollups. This innovation heralds an era of more efficient and secure transactions and operations on the Bitcoin blockchain, unlocking a broader spectrum of functionalities beyond mere transactions.

The integration with the dWallet Network, coupled with the ability to control dWallets from smart contracts on any Avail rollup, was made possible through Avail Nexus, a zero-knowledge coordination rollup that incorporates validity-proof-based light clients and execution proof aggregation. This pivotal move towards Web3 unification will also empower developers to utilize Avail Fusion's borrowed security from native assets of established ecosystems, including BTC, ETH, and others.

Furthermore, the dWallet Network integration will facilitate the groundbreaking Fusion Security model upon its release. This model empowers users to securely store their BTC, ETH, or other assets in dWallets and contribute them to bolstering the security of the Avail ecosystem. Crucially, this is achieved while maintaining ownership of their native assets. This introduces the first native multi-chain staking/restaking solution designed to secure the consensus of disparate blockchains.

To implement the dWallet primitive, the dWallet Network harnesses 2PC-MPC, a state-of-the-art protocol pioneered by its team. This industry-first multiparty protocol facilitates the generation of an ECDSA signature in a non-collusive manner, involving both the end-user and a substantial number of nodes, potentially reaching into the hundreds or thousands.

dWallet technology allows Solidity smart contracts on an Avail rollup to generate Bitcoin signatures and enables developers to manage dWallets. Concurrently, the dWallet Network mandates approval from the Avail rollup smart contract for logic enforcement, requiring users to conclude the signature, thus thwarting collusion and asset theft. Any protocol on an Avail rollup can leverage dWallets for enhanced functionality and secure interoperability, whether in Web3 applications involving custody, DeFi, DAOs, gaming, or other domains.

"We are thrilled to collaborate with Avail, as our shared vision of a unified Web3 aligns seamlessly," remarked Omer Sadika, co-founder of dWallet Network. "We firmly believe that the future of Web3 lies not in cross-chain but in multi-chain interoperability. Together with Avail, we will relentlessly pursue the realization of this transformative vision."

This latest integration perfectly dovetails with Avail's mission to unify Web3. To achieve this goal, Avail employs a comprehensive full-stack architecture comprising innovative solutions – DA, Nexus, and Fusion Security – to usher in the rollup future and address the scalability challenges plaguing the blockchain industry.

Avail DA stands as the cornerstone of the Avail trinity, offering a vast blobspace for rollup developers and laying the foundation for a diverse and vibrant ecosystem of rollups. Avail Nexus, aimed at bridging the gap between disparate ecosystems built atop Avail's DA layer, utilizes Avail DA as the trust anchor for ecosystem-wide coordination.

Finally, Fusion Security will provide an additional layer of security for a growing network of rollups and blockchains, reinforcing Avail's consensus mechanism. The integration of dWallets into the Avail trinity accelerates the unification of Web3, mitigates fragmentation issues, and paves the way for a fully integrated, secure, and native experience across all Web3 ecosystems.

About dWallet Network

dWallet Network is the vanguard of dWallets – programmable and transferable signing mechanisms residing on-chain. It empowers builders on L1s and L2s to harness dWallets as a building block for managing assets and enforcing logic across Web3 in a decentralized and non-collusive manner.

About Avail

Avail is constructing a unification layer to resolve rollup fragmentation and scalability challenges. Avail approaches this from first principles through its three-phase roadmap – the Avail Trinity. Beginning with Avail DA, the validity-proven data availability layer that scales with demand, followed by Nexus for permissionless unification and Fusion for shared security. Blockchain and rollup developers can submit transaction data to Avail DA today, inheriting the security and advantages of Avail's KZG commitments and light clients with data availability sampling. Start building today, as the unification of Web3 draws near!
