Arthur Hayes Predicts Bitcoin Will Hit $250K by the End of 2025

May 08, 2025 at 05:24 pm

Arthur Hayes didn't pull punches in Dubai. At TOKEN2049, the ex-BitMEX chief laid out a straight-shot prediction: Bitcoin at $250K by the end of 2025.

Arthur Hayes Predicts Bitcoin Will Hit $250K by the End of 2025

Arthur Hayes, the former CEO of cryptocurrency exchange BitMEX, has set a price target of $250,000 for Bitcoin (BTC) by the end of 2025, as reported by Benzinga.

During his speech at the TOKEN2049 conference in Dubai, Hayes explained his prediction, which is based on his anticipation of the Federal Reserve pivoting towards quantitative easing (QE) and increasing liquidity in the financial system.

"Bitcoin trades solely based on the market expectation for the future supply of fiat. If the Fed pivots towards QE, and there is an increase in liquidity, then Bitcoin will rise accordingly," stated Hayes.

According to Hayes, the Fed is already displaying signs of a shift towards easing, with recent actions such as reducing the Treasury runoff cap and intervening to stabilize the banking system.

"If my analysis of the Fed's major pivot from QT to QE for treasuries is correct, then Bitcoin hit a local low of $76,500 last month, and now we begin the ascent to $250,000 by year-end," he added.

In addition to QE, Hayes highlighted the role of Treasury buybacks in injecting liquidity into the system. He noted that hedge funds are still richly valued, which indicates a continuation of liquidity measures.

"Add to that the widening U.S. deficit, slumping tax revenue, and political gridlock, and the pressure to keep markets greased is only going to increase."

According to Hayes, the urgency to intervene will become apparent when the MOVE Index soars once again, similar to April 2, when Trump's tariff threats pushed the index to 172, forcing the Fed to intervene in 2022 to prevent a market collapse.

"The message is that we've been here before, and the response may look eerily familiar," he said.
