Ukraine is seeing a sharp increase in cryptocurrency crimes. In 2023, crypto fraud cases rose by 40%, including Ponzi schemes, fake investments, and violent crimes like kidnappings.

This rise in crime comes as cryptocurrency adoption in Ukraine has surged, especially after the Russia-Ukraine war. Many Ukrainians turned to digital currencies as a safe way to transfer and store money during the conflict, boosting the popularity of cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin.

The National Police of Ukraine (GUNP) has created special units to fight these crimes and is calling for stricter regulations and better public awareness to protect people in the growing Bitcoin market.
