Arbitrum Faces Bearish Pressure: Volatility Dampens Optimism
May 14, 2024 at 12:09 am
Arbitrum's price has been declining, with a 5.36% drop in value over the past week. Despite a brief recovery following the announcement of Delabs Games' plans for Arbitrum, ARB has faced bearish pressure and is currently trading below key moving averages. Experts predict that ARB's value will continue to decline marginally due to investors abandoning the project.

Arbitrum Price Outlook: Bearish Pressure Weighs on Cryptocurrency
Recent Market Performance
The cryptocurrency Arbitrum (ARB) has been experiencing a downturn in the past week, slipping below key moving averages and illustrating a negative momentum in the market. On April 28, ARB was trading at approximately $1.12, and despite an initial surge following the launch of Chapter 8 of Arbitrum Arcade, which granted access to the InfiniGods' King Of Destiny game, the excitement surrounding this news subsided and ARB's price began to decline. By April 30, it had dropped to $0.98, but recovered slightly on May 1 after Delabs Games announced plans to develop on Arbitrum. However, by May 5, ARB had stabilized around $1.06, representing a 5.36% decline over the seven-day period.
Expert Analysis and Predictions
Experts in the field have expressed cautious optimism about ARB's future performance, predicting marginal gains in the near term with a forecasted closing price of US$1.08 by the end of the month. This analysis is primarily based on investors abandoning ARB as the hype surrounding Realm, an F2P action Roguelite and Metroidvanian coming to Arbitrum on May 3, wanes.
Technical Indicators
Technical indicators paint a somewhat bearish picture for Arbitrum. The price has been declining and facing resistance from the 20-day exponential moving average, indicating a negative outlook. Additionally, the RSI (Relative Strength Index) is currently at 35 and consolidating near the oversold zone, further suggesting a potential for continued downward movement.
Historical Performance
While Arbitrum has been performing well since October 2023, reaching a new all-time high of $2.40 on January 11, 2024, it has faced significant setbacks in recent months. In the first week of January, the price struggled to break through the $2.40 mark and ended up losing around 25% in just 10 days. In March, another attempt to reach a new all-time high was thwarted by profit booking, leading to a decline of over 50% up to the present.
