Analyst Skeptical Sui is a ‘Solana Killer’ – Here’s What Needs to Happen for SUI to Flip SOL
Oct 24, 2024 at 01:43 pm
SUI is, without doubt, one of the hot stories in crypto in recent weeks. It reminds many of what Solana was this time last year.

Analyst Skeptical Sui is a ‘Solana Killer’ – Here’s What Needs to Happen for SUI to Flip SOL
Key Points
Analyst Choze is skeptical that Sui will be able to quickly overtake Solana (SOL) in terms of market capitalization.
Despite recent gains, Sui's daily fees, revenue, and active addresses still pale in comparison to Solana's numbers.
Choze suggests that instead of focusing on becoming a “Solana killer,” Sui should aim to find its own niche in the crypto ecosystem.
Ever since cryptocurrency markets began to recover in early 2023, Sui (SUI) has been among the best performing digital assets. Year-to-date, SUI is up over 2,400%, easily outpacing gains seen by Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).
This impressive rally has naturally caught the attention of many crypto traders and enthusiasts. Some are now speculating that Sui could quickly become a “Solana killer,” considering how quickly it has been rising in the rankings.
However, one crypto trader and analyst remains skeptical that Sui will be able to close the gap to Solana (SOL) as quickly as some might think.
Analyst Warns Sui Holders, Despite Big Pumps, Numbers Don’t Lie, SOL Still Far Ahead
Throughout 2022, Solana was easily one of the worst performing large-cap crypto assets. As a result of the downturn in markets and the closure of several projects built on the network, SOL’s price crashed by more than 95%.
Now that crypto markets are recovering, traders are flocking back to the network. As a result, SOL’s price has rebounded sharply, and activity on the network has surged.
Analyst Choze Weighed In On This Topic And Warned Sui Holders And Users. / Twitter
Analyst Choze recently took to Twitter to address the speculation surrounding Sui's potential to overtake Solana. While acknowledging the impressive gains posted by Sui, Choze expressed skepticism that it will be able to quickly close the gap to Solana.
The analyst highlighted the significant disparity in key on-chain metrics between the two networks. For instance, Solana’s daily fees have reached an impressive $4.1 million, while Sui generates just $27.7K in fees. The revenue numbers paint a similar picture, with Solana bringing in $2 million compared to Sui’s modest $7.5K.
When it comes to daily transactions, Solana maintains a steady flow of around 45.4 million transactions per day. While Sui did experience a brief spike to 60 million transactions, it quickly returned to its baseline of about 5 million daily transactions.
“Don’t get me wrong. I love the project, but let’s be real here,” the analyst said, referring to the話を誇張する traders who are hyping up Sui’s potential to quickly overtake Solana.
Choze suggests that rather than focusing on overtaking Solana, Sui might be better served by finding its own niche in the crypto ecosystem. The trader points out that success in the blockchain space isn’t necessarily about becoming a “killer” of another platform, but rather about developing unique strengths and use cases.
