Joao Wedson, CEO of Alphractal and a verified author at CryptoQuant and CoinMarketCap, has confidently declared that Altcoin Season is already underway

Crypto analyst Joao Wedson, CEO of Alphractal and a verified author at CryptoQuant and CoinMarketCap, has boldly asserted that Altcoin Season is already here and heating up.
He notes that the crypto market moves in cycles, and Altseason is a recurring phase that savvy investors must anticipate and approach strategically.
Pointing back to his April warning, Wedson stated that those who diversified early into strong projects, especially newly launched ones, have already seen returns of 100% or more, with many coins outperforming Bitcoin.
He further predicts that by July, the altcoins likely to experience significant surges are those released in late 2024 and early 2025, a pattern observed during the 2020–2021 bull cycle.
In his view, Bitcoin should no longer be the primary focus of investor portfolios. While BTC might still undergo a 2x from current levels, Wedson emphasizes that the true upside potential lies in strategically selected altcoins.
He believes Bitcoin dominance, currently high, will begin to decrease sharply, perhaps retesting around 67% on its way down.
Even if Bitcoin faces short-term setbacks, most altcoins appear to have hit bottom already, making it highly unlikely for them to dip below recent price levels.
Wedson recommends keeping a close watch on altcoins against BTC pairs. If an altcoin shows weak relative performance, he suggests shifting some Bitcoin into assets displaying stronger momentum to capitalize on the maximal upside as capital rotation favors altcoins.
