Actor Hwang Jung-eum seized about 1.8 billion won in real estate during her divorce from her ex-husband Lee Young-don.
May 23, 2025 at 12:54 pm
Hwang Jung-eum, an official from his agency, Y1 Entertainment, told Mail Business Star Today on the 23rd, "It is right that real estate has been seized," and said, "It was carried out during the divorce lawsuit."
Actor Hwang Jung-eum's ex-husband has reportedly seized about 1.8 billion won in real estate during their divorce.
An official from his agency, Y1 Entertainment, confirmed the attachment and said it was carried out smoothly.
"It is right that real estate has been attached," the official said. "It was carried out smoothly during the divorce lawsuit."
"As the divorce itself is currently in the final stage, we expect it to be completed smoothly soon," he added.
A media outlet reported that Geomam Core, a steel processing seller run by Lee Young-don, filed a lawsuit against Hwang Jung-eum to return the loan of KRW 157 million.
Since then, Geomam Core requested attachment on April 17 at the real estate in Seongnae-dong, Seongdong-gu, Seoul, owned by Hwang Jung-eum, and the court cited the request for attachment on the 30th of the same month.
In addition to Lee Young-don's company, A also requested a seizure of 100 million won, which the court cited.
The seized real estate is two out of 13 households in urban living housing that Hwang Jung-eum bought for 1.87 billion won in 2013.
Hwang Jung-eum married Lee Young-don, a professional golfer and businessman, in 2016 and gave birth to a son in 2017 and 2022.
The two reunited after going through divorce in 2020, but filed for divorce in February last year, claiming her husband's affair.
Recently, it was reported that Hwang Jung-eum was handed over to trial on charges of violating the law on aggravated punishment of certain economic crimes.
Hwang Jung-eum is accused of embezzling 4.34 billion won in company money by December 2022, including investing 700 million won in virtual currency in the name of provisional payments from her agency in early 2022.
When the controversy arose, Hwang Jung-eum said, "When I had a desire to grow the company, I was encouraged by people around me to raise the company's funds through coin investment around 2021, and I jumped into a coin investment that I didn't know well."
Currently, Hwang Jung-eum is known to have repaid much of the coin by selling it, and there is still about 1 billion won to repay.
