X Account Hack and a Pump-and-Dump Scheme — What Happened to Truth Terminal’s Creator?

X Account Hack and a Pump-and-Dump Scheme — What Happened to Truth Terminal’s Creator?

On Tuesday, the creator of the semi-autonomous AI bot Truth Terminal, known for its Solana token meme coin goatseus maximus (GOAT), discovered his X account had been hacked. The incident resulted in a pump-and-dump scheme that netted attackers over $600,000. Now, an onchain investigator claims that one party involved appears to be an FWOG whale. Truth Terminal's Solana wallet, which once held meme coins valued at tens of millions, was drained.

Following the news that Truth Terminal’s X account was hacked, allowing attackers to launch a new meme coin and advertise it through his account, Truth Terminal’s Solana wallet, once brimming with meme coin assets valued at tens of millions, was emptied, with funds being dispersed across several wallets. On Nov. 3, onchain analyst Zachxbt shared that one individual connected to the incident appears to be an FWOG whale, as FWOG is a meme coin that has recently garnered attention within the cryptocurrency community.

“I did some initial tracing for the Andy Ayrey (Truth Terminal creator) hack this week which led to $1.5M+ stolen from deploying multiple bundled meme coins and found one of the people involved in the incident appears to be an FWOG whale,” explained Zachxbt in a Telegram channel message. The onchain investigator also shared the wallet addresses connected to the breach.

As of Sunday morning, Truth Terminal's meme coin goatseus maximus (GOAT) has experienced a market slump. GOAT lost 7.2% in the past 24 hours and fell 34.5% against the U.S. dollar this week. Priced at $0.4546 per GOAT, the token slid 48.6% from its all-time high of $0.8788 on Oct. 24, ten days prior. Despite the drop, GOAT is still up 938.4% from its all-time low of $0.04354 on Oct. 13.

The hack targeting Truth Terminal and its creator highlights some of the risks موجود in the cryptocurrency space, where even advanced AI-powered bots and experienced developers are still susceptible to increasingly elaborate attacks. GOAT's sharp decrease in market value also showcases the financial impact that often follows such breaches, as shaken investor confidence sends prices spiraling down. This event may also bring further attention to meme coins, especially those created by artificial intelligence.
