How to use a Web3 wallet to connect to DEXs such as Uniswap?
To connect your crypto assets to Uniswap and facilitate token swaps, install an ETH-compatible Web3 wallet like MetaMask, Coinbase Wallet, or Trust Wallet.
Oct 22, 2024 at 10:06 am
- MetaMask: A popular browser extension and mobile app that supports multiple networks and tokens.
- Coinbase Wallet: A user-friendly mobile app that offers a custodial solution with high security.
- Trust Wallet: A mobile-only wallet that provides support for a wide range of tokens and decentralized applications.
- Visit the official website of your chosen wallet.
- Download the extension or app and follow the installation instructions.
- Open the wallet and create a new wallet by following the prompts.
- Generate a secure password and secret recovery phrase.
- Transfer cryptocurrency from another wallet or exchange into your Web3 wallet.
- You can purchase ETH through the Coinbase Wallet or MetaMask extension.
- Visit the Uniswap website (https://uniswap.org).
- Click the "Connect Wallet" button in the top right corner.
- Select your preferred wallet from the list and authorize the connection.
- Enter the token you want to swap in the "From" field and the token you want to receive in the "To" field.
- Specify the amount you want to exchange.
- Review the transaction details and click "Swap."
- Your wallet will prompt you to confirm the transaction.
- Check the gas fee (cost of executing the transaction) and click "Confirm."
- Use an ETH-compatible wallet: Uniswap and most DEXs are built on the Ethereum blockchain, so you will need an ETH-compatible wallet to connect.
- Check gas fees: Gas fees can fluctuate depending on network congestion, so check the fee before confirming your transaction.
- Store your recovery phrase securely: Keep your wallet's secret recovery phrase safe as it is the only way to recover your funds if you lose access to your wallet.
