How To View NFTs in Metamask

MetaMask is a popular software cryptocurrency wallet used to interact with the Ethereum blockchain. It allows users to store Ether and other ERC-20 tokens, as well as interact with decentralized applications (dApps). NFTs can be viewed in Metamask by following these easy steps:

  1. Install Metamask: Visit the official Metamask website and download the extension for your browser. Create a new wallet or import an existing one.
  2. Add the Token to MetaMask: For NFTs built on the Ethereum blockchain, the ERC-721 or ERC-1155 tokens must be added to Metamask. Go to the "Assets" tab and click on the "Add Token" button. Enter the contract address of the NFT collection or search for it via name. Click "Next" and add the token.
  3. View the NFT: Navigate to the "N" tab where the NFTs will show up. Individual NFTs can be viewed in MetaMask by clicking on the "View on OpenSea" button to see details like ownership, history, and offers.
  4. Export the Private Key (Optional): If you wish to backup and export your NFTs for safekeeping, click on the three dots beside the specific NFT and select "Export Private Key." Note that this should be done with extreme caution as it gives full control over your NFTs.

MetaMask provides users with the convenience to view their NFTs in one place and has become a primary choice for storing and viewing digital collectibles.
