How to use UniSat wallet for Runes etching? (Bitcoin DeFi)
要参与BRC-20空投,需先安装UniSat钱包(Chrome插件),创建Taproot地址(bc1p开头),连接小狐狸钱包并加入BRC网络,再通过bridge.brcchain.io完成跨链桥接与空投申领。

Wallet Setup and Network Configuration
1. Download the UniSat Wallet extension from the Chrome Web Store or official GitHub repository.
2. Install the extension and launch it in your browser to initiate wallet creation.
3. Select “Create New Wallet” and securely record the 12-word mnemonic phrase—this is the sole recovery method for all assets.
4. Set a strong password and confirm it; avoid reusing passwords across platforms.
5. Ensure the wallet is connected to the Bitcoin mainnet—not testnet—by verifying the network indicator in the top-right corner of the interface.
Accessing the Runes Etching Interface
1. Navigate to the UniSat website and click on the “Runes” tab in the main navigation bar.
2. Click “Connect Wallet” and approve the connection request from the UniSat Wallet popup.
3. Confirm that the displayed BTC address matches your wallet’s mainnet receiving address (starts with “3” or “bc1” depending on script type).
4. Once connected, select “Etch” from the sidebar menu to enter the etching configuration panel.
5. Verify that the current block height shown aligns with the live Bitcoin blockchain—UniSat pulls real-time data from its own indexer nodes.
Etching Parameters and Transaction Submission
1. Input the rune name using only uppercase letters, periods, or middle dots—no spaces or lowercase characters are permitted.
2. Specify the divisibility value (0–8), which determines decimal places; this cannot be altered post-etching.
3. Enter total supply as an integer; overflow beyond uint64 will trigger a validation error before submission.
4. Assign a symbol consisting of exactly one Unicode character—this appears in market listings and explorer views.
5. Review the estimated fee shown in satoshis; UniSat displays both base fee and optional priority bump for faster confirmation.
Transaction Finalization and On-Chain Verification
1. After clicking “Submit Etch”, the wallet prompts for signature approval—review all OP_RETURN fields before confirming.
2. The transaction ID appears immediately upon broadcast; copy it for external verification.
3. Monitor the status via UniSat Explorer or third-party tools like Mempool.space to confirm inclusion in a block.
4. Once confirmed, the rune appears under “My Runes” with full metadata: ID, symbol, divisibility, and initial supply allocation.
5. Each etched rune receives a unique identifier formatted as “block_height/sequence_number”, e.g., “840000/1” for the first rune at genesis height.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Can I etch multiple runes in one transaction?UniSat does not support batch etching; each rune requires a separate etch transaction with distinct OP_RETURN data.
Q2: What happens if I submit an invalid symbol or name? The frontend validator blocks submission before signing—invalid UTF-8 sequences, disallowed characters, or duplicate names trigger immediate rejection.
Q3: Is etching reversible after broadcast? No. Etching writes immutable data into the Bitcoin blockchain via OP_RETURN; no mechanism exists to alter or delete the rune definition.
Q4: Do I need UTXOs designated specifically for Runes etching?Any spendable UTXO in your wallet can fund the etch transaction; UniSat automatically selects optimal inputs to minimize dust accumulation and fee inefficiency.
