How to swap tokens within the Trust Wallet app?
Open Trust Wallet, select a token, tap Swap, choose the destination token, review rates and fees, then confirm with your password or biometrics to execute.
Oct 01, 2025 at 01:54 am
Accessing the Swap Feature in Trust Wallet
1. Open the Trust Wallet application on your mobile device and ensure you are logged into your account securely. Navigate to the home screen where your wallet balances are displayed.
2. Locate and tap on the token you wish to swap from your portfolio. This opens the individual token management screen, which includes options like send, receive, and swap.
3. Tap the Swap button prominently displayed on the token page. This action redirects you to the integrated swap interface powered by various decentralized exchanges.
4. The app automatically sets the selected token as the source asset. You will then be prompted to choose the destination token for the swap transaction.
Selecting Tokens and Reviewing Exchange Rates
1. Use the search bar or scroll through the list to select the token you want to receive after the swap. The interface displays real-time exchange rates pulled from liquidity providers across multiple DEXs.
2. Pay close attention to the estimated amount you will receive and the associated network fee. These values fluctuate based on market conditions and blockchain congestion.
3. A price impact indicator may appear if the trade size is large relative to available liquidity. High price impact can result in less favorable execution prices.
4. The app shows a breakdown of fees, including the service fee charged by Trust Wallet (if applicable) and the gas fee required by the underlying blockchain network.
Confirming and Executing the Swap
1. After verifying all details, tap the Review Swap button. This opens a confirmation screen summarizing the transaction parameters.
2. Check the exact amounts, exchange rate, slippage tolerance, and expiration time. Slippage is pre-configured but can be adjusted in settings for volatile tokens.
3. If everything is accurate, confirm the swap by entering your wallet password or using biometric authentication. Once confirmed, the transaction is broadcasted to the blockchain.
4. Monitor the progress via the transaction history tab. The swapped tokens will reflect in your wallet once the transaction receives sufficient confirmations on the network.
Managing Common Swap Issues
1. Failed swaps may occur due to insufficient gas, extreme price volatility, or temporary connectivity issues with decentralized liquidity sources.
2. In cases of failure, funds are typically returned to your wallet, though gas fees remain non-refundable as they are paid to miners or validators.
3. Enable lower slippage tolerance in advanced settings when trading low-liquidity tokens to prevent excessive losses during high volatility.
4. Always ensure your wallet has enough native cryptocurrency (e.g., BNB for BSC, ETH for Ethereum) to cover gas fees before initiating any swap.
Frequently Asked Questions
What happens if my swap fails?Failed swaps usually result from price changes exceeding slippage limits or network congestion. Your original tokens remain in your wallet, minus the gas fee consumed during the attempt.
Are there hidden fees when swapping tokens in Trust Wallet?Trust Wallet discloses all fees prior to confirmation. While it partners with third-party liquidity aggregators that may include small markups, these are shown in the rate comparison before execution.
Can I swap tokens across different blockchains using Trust Wallet?Cross-chain swaps are not directly supported within the app. Users must use a bridge service first to transfer assets between chains before performing a swap on the target network.
How long does a typical token swap take?Transaction speed depends on the blockchain’s current load and gas fee level. Most swaps finalize within 30 seconds to two minutes, though peak times may extend confirmation periods.
