How to Send USDC from MetaMask to Base Wallet?
Base网络需手动添加至MetaMask:填入RPC、链ID 8453、代币符号BASE及区块浏览器;USDC合约地址为0x8335…2913,仅限Base链使用,转账前须持足够BASE支付gas费。(155字)

Network Configuration Requirements
1. Base network must be manually added to MetaMask as it is not enabled by default. Users need to input the correct RPC URL, chain ID 8453, native currency symbol BASE, and block explorer URL.
2. USDC on Base uses the BEP-20-compatible token standard with contract address 0x833589fCD6eDb6E08f4c7C32D4f71b54bdA02913. This address differs from Ethereum’s USDC and must be verified before initiating transfers.
3. MetaMask must display “Base” in the top network selector bar after successful configuration. Failure to see this label indicates incomplete setup or incorrect parameter entry.
4. Gas fees on Base are paid exclusively in BASE tokens. Users must hold a minimum balance of BASE—typically 0.001–0.01—to cover transaction execution costs.
Token Import Procedure
1. Within MetaMask, click “Import tokens” after switching to Base network.
2. Select “Custom token” and paste the official USDC contract address for Base: 0x833589fCD6eDb6E08f4c7C32D4f71b54bdA02913.
3. Confirm token symbol (USDC) and decimals (6) match official specifications published by Circle.
4. Click “Next”, then “Add Token”. The USDC balance will appear under assets only if the wallet holds USDC on Base already or receives it post-import.
Transaction Initiation Steps
1. Click the “Send” button next to the imported USDC balance in MetaMask.
2. Paste the recipient’s Base-compatible wallet address—ensuring it is not an Ethereum mainnet or Layer 2 address from another chain.
3. Enter the exact amount of USDC to transfer. Decimal precision must align with six decimal places; trailing zeros beyond that may cause validation failure.
4. Review the estimated gas fee denominated in BASE. This value fluctuates based on network congestion and cannot be adjusted manually in MetaMask’s default interface.
5. Confirm the transaction using the wallet password or hardware wallet prompt. The status remains “Pending” until at least one block confirmation occurs on Base.
Verification and Confirmation
1. After submission, locate the transaction hash in MetaMask’s activity tab and copy it.
2. Paste the hash into BaseScan (basescan.org) to verify inclusion in a block, confirm destination address accuracy, and check USDC transfer amount.
3. Wait for at least three block confirmations before assuming finality. Base block time averages 2 seconds, so full confirmation typically completes within 6 seconds.
4. If the recipient does not see funds after five confirmations, cross-check whether their wallet supports Base-native USDC and whether they have added the same token contract manually.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q1: Can I send USDC from Ethereum mainnet directly to a Base wallet address? No. Ethereum USDC and Base USDC are separate token instances. A direct cross-chain transfer without bridging results in permanent loss.
Q2: Why does MetaMask show “Insufficient BASE balance” even when I hold USDC?BASE tokens are required to pay gas. Holding only USDC does not satisfy network fee requirements. Acquire BASE via exchange deposit or Base faucet.
Q3: Is it safe to use third-party bridges instead of native MetaMask transfers?Third-party bridges introduce additional smart contract risk and custodial dependencies. Native transfers via MetaMask on correctly configured Base avoid intermediary logic flaws.
Q4: What happens if I paste an Arbitrum or Optimism address while on Base network? The transaction will execute on Base but send to that arbitrary address. No automatic validation prevents this error. Always double-check recipient address checksum and network context.
