How to send Litecoin (LTC) from my Exodus Wallet?
Always double-check the recipient's Litecoin address and transaction fee before sending from Exodus, as transfers cannot be reversed once confirmed.

Sending Litecoin from Exodus Wallet: A Step-by-Step Guide
1. Open the Exodus Wallet application on your desktop or mobile device and unlock your wallet using your password or biometric authentication. Ensure that you are accessing the correct wallet profile if you manage multiple accounts within the app.
2. Navigate to the main dashboard and locate Litecoin (LTC) in your list of assets. Click on the LTC tile to open the Litecoin interface, which displays your current balance and available actions such as Send, Receive, and Swap.
3. Click the Send button to initiate a transfer. This will open a new window where you can enter the recipient’s Litecoin address, the amount you wish to send, and adjust the network fee if necessary.
4. Paste the recipient’s LTC address carefully into the designated field. Double-check every character to avoid sending funds to an incorrect or invalid address. Even a single wrong character can result in permanent loss of funds.
5. Enter the amount of Litecoin you want to transfer. The interface will automatically calculate the network transaction fee, which is paid to miners for processing your transaction on the Litecoin blockchain.
Understanding Transaction Fees and Speed
1. Exodus Wallet automatically sets a default transaction fee based on current network congestion. This fee ensures your transaction is confirmed in a timely manner, usually within a few minutes.
2. You may have the option to adjust the fee manually. Choosing a higher fee increases the priority of your transaction, leading to faster confirmation. Conversely, lowering the fee might reduce costs but could delay processing during peak times.
3. Litecoin transactions typically confirm faster than Bitcoin due to its shorter block time—approximately 2.5 minutes per block. However, confirmation speed still depends on the fee attached and overall network load.
4. Once you confirm the fee and amount, review all details again. After submission, cryptocurrency transactions cannot be reversed, so accuracy is critical before finalizing.
5. After clicking Send, Exodus will prompt you to confirm the transaction with your password or biometric verification. Upon approval, your transaction is broadcast to the Litecoin network.
Verifying the Transaction on the Blockchain
1. After sending, you can track the status of your transaction using a Litecoin blockchain explorer such as blockchair.com or blockcypher.com. Copy the transaction ID (TXID) provided by Exodus and paste it into the search bar of the explorer.
2. The explorer will display real-time information including the number of confirmations, sender and receiver addresses, transferred amount, and timestamp. Each new block that includes your transaction adds one confirmation.
3. Most services require at least 6 confirmations for a Litecoin transaction to be considered secure. Given Litecoin’s average block time, this usually takes around 15 minutes under normal conditions.
4. If the transaction does not appear in the explorer after several minutes, check whether it was successfully broadcast. In rare cases, connectivity issues may prevent immediate propagation across nodes.
5. Contact the recipient only after confirming the transaction has been processed and credited to their wallet. Miscommunication often arises when recipients expect instant availability without checking their own wallet activity.
Security Best Practices When Sending LTC
1. Always verify the recipient address by cross-referencing at least the first and last five characters. Consider sending a small test amount before transferring large sums, especially to new or unfamiliar addresses.
2. Never share your private keys or recovery phrase with anyone. Exodus is a non-custodial wallet, meaning you are fully responsible for securing your funds. No legitimate support team will ever ask for these details.
3. Enable two-factor authentication (2FA) on any associated email or exchange accounts linked to your wallet. This adds an extra layer of protection against unauthorized access.
4. Keep your Exodus Wallet software updated to benefit from the latest security patches and feature improvements. Outdated versions may expose vulnerabilities exploitable by malicious actors.
5. Beware of phishing attempts. Only download Exodus from the official website and ensure URLs are correct. Fake websites mimicking Exodus have been used to steal user credentials and funds.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I cancel a Litecoin transaction after sending it from Exodus? No. Once a Litecoin transaction is broadcast to the network, it cannot be canceled or reversed. Always double-check the recipient address and amount before confirming.
What should I do if I sent LTC to the wrong address? If you accidentally send Litecoin to an incorrect address, contact the recipient if possible. If the address belongs to an exchange or service, reach out to their support with the transaction ID. There is no way to recover funds sent to an unknown or unresponsive address.
Why is my transaction taking longer than expected to confirm?Low network fees can cause delays, especially during periods of high traffic. Check the transaction status using a blockchain explorer. If the fee was too low, some wallets support Replace-by-Fee (RBF), though Exodus does not currently offer this for LTC.
Does Exodus charge additional fees for sending Litecoin?Exodus does not impose extra charges beyond the standard network fee required by the Litecoin blockchain. The displayed fee is solely for miner compensation and varies based on network demand.
