how to send bitcoin on cash app to wallet address
Before sending Bitcoin via Cash App, verify you have a Cash App account, sufficient Bitcoin balance, and the recipient's accurate wallet address; incorrect addresses result in irreversible loss of funds.
Mar 20, 2025 at 03:35 pm

Have a Cash App account : If you don’t have an account, you need to search for “Cash App” in the mobile app store (Apple App Store or Android Google Play) to download and install it, and then follow the prompts to complete the registration process, including setting a username, linking a mobile phone number or email address, verifying your identity, etc.
Bitcoin balances are available in the account : Bitcoin purchase function can be purchased using the associated bank account, debit card or existing Cash App balance through the Bitcoin purchase function of the Cash App. When operating, open the Cash App, click the "Bitcoin" option in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen. After entering the Bitcoin page, select "Purchase", enter the amount or amount of Bitcoin you want to purchase, confirm the purchase and follow the prompts to complete the payment process.
Know the wallet address of the receiver : The wallet address of the receiver is a string of unique identifiers composed of letters and numbers, similar to a bank account number. Different wallet address formats may vary, and common Bitcoin addresses start with "1", "3", or "bc1". Be sure to check the address carefully to ensure accuracy, because once Bitcoin transactions are confirmed, they cannot be revoked. If the address is wrong, funds may be lost. For example, traditional Bitcoin addresses starting with "1" are like 1BvBMSEYstWetqTFn5Au4m4GFg7xJaNVN2; P2SH addresses starting with "3" are like 3J98t1WpEZ73CNmQviecrnyiWrnqRhWNLy; Bech32 addresses starting with "bc1". While Bitcoin cash addresses can follow the traditional format (starting with 1) or the more common cash address (CashAddr) format, it is based on bech32 and starts with 'q' or 'bitcoincash:q', such as bitcoincash:qpm2qsznhks23z7629mms6s4cwef74vcwvy22gdx6a.
Open the Cash App, enter the main interface, click the "Bitcoin" option in the menu bar at the bottom of the screen to enter the Bitcoin-related operation page.
In the Bitcoin page, click the "Send" button in the upper right corner of the screen. This button usually has a right-facing arrow icon, which is easy to identify.
An input box will pop up, paste it in the input box or manually enter the recipient's wallet address. When entering, pay special attention to the accuracy of the address to avoid input errors or missing characters. If it is manual input, it is recommended to check it multiple times. Because Bitcoin transactions are irreversible, once Bitcoin is sent to the wrong address, it is difficult to retrieve funds. For example, if Bitcoin is sent to an address that does not exist or is incorrect, the Bitcoin network will try to confirm the transaction, but because the corresponding recipient address cannot be found, the transaction may be shelved or eventually fail, but Bitcoin may have been deducted from your account and cannot be automatically returned.
After entering the receiving wallet address, the amount setting area will appear below.
You can choose to send all available Bitcoin balances and click the corresponding "Send All" option. If you want to send only some bitcoins, click the Amount input box and manually enter the amount of bitcoins you want to send. When entering, you can use decimals to specify the sending amount accurately. For example, if you want to send 0.01 bitcoins, enter "0.01" in the input box.
When setting the amount, the Cash App will display the amount of the fiat currency (such as USD) converted to according to the current Bitcoin market price in real time, so that you can understand the actual value of this sending. At the same time, be aware that Cash App may set certain amount limits for each transaction, including daily, weekly, or monthly transaction limits. If the sending amount exceeds the limit, the transaction will not be completed. You can view specific limit information in the Cash App Settings or Help Center.
After setting the sending amount, carefully check the transaction information. Including whether the receiving party's wallet address is correct and whether the sending amount meets expectations.
The Cash App will also display the amount of the transaction expected to be paid. The amount of handling fees usually depends on the congestion of the Bitcoin network and the Cash App's own charging strategy. In the event of network congestion, the handling fee may be higher to incentivize miners to prioritize your transactions. If the handling fee is too high, you can consider waiting for a while, before trading after the network congestion is alleviated, or adjusting the handling fee settings (if Cash App supports it).
After confirming that, click the "Continue" button at the bottom of the screen. At this time, Cash App may ask you to enter your payment password again, use fingerprint recognition or facial recognition (if the relevant security verification method has been set up before) to confirm that the transaction was initiated by you.
After completing the security verification, the Cash App will submit the Bitcoin send request to the Bitcoin network for processing.
The confirmation time of transactions depends on the status of the Bitcoin network. In the absence of network congestion, transactions may be confirmed within a few minutes; but in the event of network congestion, it may take a long time, even dozens of minutes to hours.
You can view transaction status in the Bitcoin transaction history of the Cash App. When the transaction is confirmed by the Bitcoin network, the recipient's wallet will receive the Bitcoin you sent. At the same time, the Cash App will show that the transaction has been completed and provide detailed information on the transaction, including transaction time, transaction amount, handling fee, etc. If the transaction is not confirmed for a long time or an error occurs, the Cash App may display the corresponding error message. Common causes of errors include network problems, address errors, insufficient balance, etc. At this time, you can troubleshoot and solve the problem based on the prompt information. For example, if the prompt address is wrong, you need to carefully check the recipient's wallet address and re-enter; if the prompt balance is insufficient, you need to make sure that there is enough Bitcoin balance or supplementary funds in your Cash App account before trying to trade.
