How to Import Your Recovery Phrase into MetaMask
Step 1: Open MetaMask
- Launch the MetaMask extension or mobile app.
Step 2: Select "Import Wallet"
- For the MetaMask extension, click on the "Import Wallet" button in the top right corner.
- For the MetaMask app, tap on the "Import Account" option in the Settings menu.
Step 3: Choose "Recovery Phrase"
- Select the "Recovery Phrase" option as the import method.
Step 4: Enter Your Recovery Phrase
- Carefully enter your 12-word recovery phrase into the designated field. Make sure to separate each word with a single space and avoid any typos.
Step 5: Create a Password
- Create a secure password for your MetaMask account. This password will be used to unlock your wallet and authorize transactions.
Step 6: Confirm Your Recovery Phrase
- You will need to re-enter your recovery phrase to confirm it.
Step 7: Set Up Your Gas Limit
- Adjust the gas limit as desired. This sets the maximum amount of gas (transaction fees) you are willing to pay for transactions.
Step 8: Import Wallet
- Click or tap on the "Import" button to complete the import process.
Step 9: Verify Your Funds
- Once your wallet is imported, you can check your balance and transaction history to verify the successful recovery of your account.
